If these is in fact are to go head-to-head with 620, I doubt they will run on hexa-core, they more likely are to operate on octa-core

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2015LIE !!! 7880 is basically Exynos 5430!!! Look at processor ... moreThe Exynos 7880 it's probably a similar SOC to Snapdragon 620. The A72 cores have the same frequency as in the 7880 as in the 620, just need to know if the Exynos 7880 has the same configuration as the Snapdragon 620 or in other words: A72x4+A53x4.

They even make glass call Turtle Glass to replace Cornings. Soon enough they will replace Mali GPU with their own in house GPU by 2017. Then they will build pretty much everything by themselves. I hope Tizen is not in the list.

But in mid-range, Qualcomm is still producing the better chipsets performance wise. So I don't think Qualcomm is going to be completely out of business anytime soon.

The Exynos 5430 that powered Samsung's midrange phones this year were built on a 20nm process, seems like a step backwards to move to 28nm for next year's midrange.

Look at processor ... moreNo, it is not a rebranded 5430, because 7880 it has an A72x4 and A53x4 octo-core processor and is 64 bit and the 5430 it is an octo-core with A15+A7 cores of 32 bit. Remember that A72 tech is almost 4 times more powerful than A15.
