Sony phones are off course better in terms of Gaming & picture quality big screen feels good, however the phone is not easy to carry in pockets & a bit bulky.

The problem with Sony is that they make very generic phones, using mediocre, easily available to anyone components and not paying attention to having any single feature that stands out as superior. They are well leveled with that, however, but they don't have any selling points - there's always a phone with better battery, camera, display (by far in that one), performance. The Z3 compact, I think, was the only phone that was actually better than the competition and I think it remains their most interesting offering.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2015Then, go for Sony, all the above issues are addressed. I'm ... moreI like Sony, I was a huge fan for Walkman series, C series camera and Xperia windows phone, but recently I have heard they are also taking lot more time to release updates and camera reviews are not good :| But I will consider them when I do a final buy.

That is because ios update destroyed their iphone 5 and 5s. Ask any Apple user and they will tell you that they can keep an iphone for 5 years and still get an update but in real life none of them use it for more than 3 years. They end up with new model almost every 2 years. Samsung Galaxy S4 is definitely in need of upgrade because it is too old to receive update. Latest android version is meaningless for it. There is no fingerprint scanner and a lot of other lacking hardware features supported by android 6.0.

And doing the mathematics on projected sales figure, assuming defection rate remains constant, your bitter truth is that it's about 8-10 million going from one camp to the other VICE-VERSA. From a neutral point of view, there is nothing bitter about that from both camps. From Samsung fan's point of view there's probably nothing bitter about that. How does that look from Apple fanatic's point of view?

On iOS it is just as easy to see battery metrics and data as it is on android.

And as for optimising battery usage in the android world, that would largely depend on which version / skin and what features they offer, each android oem comes at battery optimisation from slightly different angles.
