Should be at least 12 inches wide...8 is kinda pointless for an OS as good as windows...smaller sizes are better suited for Android and iOS which are just up-sized phone operating systems.

You can't do any serious job with an 8 incher. But you *can* read, surf the web, chat, watch media. All of which are so much more difficult when using Windows.

What I find insulting is thinking that a Desktop OS is a replacement for a Tablet OS, it insults my intelligence and everybody who owns and values a tablet.

If I wanted a mini laptop I would had bought a mini laptop (actually I did back in the netbook days and it sucked). Since I buy a tablet I want it to have nothing to do with Desktop OSes.

My rant is directed at those companies which instead of helping Android on tabs to become more useful and relevant, instead switched to Windows producing the worst and most useless product possible, an 8-incher running Desktop OS type of monstrosity.

I know that using 2 in 1 tablet device for productivity is just insulting for you, but for some strange reason people can adapt to new things, amazing isn't?

Tablets are for consumption, it's an insult even to speak about productivity for those low inches...

But in terms of productivity android is nowhere near Windows. And with a tablet keyboard u cn use it as a laptop for notes taking and minor coding and its powered by Intel x5 so i think u cn play some windows pc games too with lowest settings.

Modern Android tablets (in fact the only one of 2015), has almost twice the battery life of a windows tablet: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/sony-xperia-z4-tablet-1286092/review/3

It's also far lighter and more useful (for content consumption) to boot.
Windows tablets are bad quality, I would only buy one if it was for $150 like those Chinese white boxes, but I'm going to go nowhere near them at $300 and $400 that some top makers ask.

Sadly tablets are dying, and Microsoft+Intel are some of the reasons that they do.

And surface pro 3 and 4 have good battery backup running win 10 so i think mipad will also be power efficient. There won't be much difference for battery backup as compared to android i guess because u know how power hunger android is...

AnonD-392127, 23 Jan 2016Its a tablet man. It will be Full fledged desktop OS.Which is the tragedy that tablets suffer nowadays.

Tablets were initially created to provide the best possible media consumption device by sacricificing mobility (they are not pocketable). They sort of did with iPad and Google was meant to improve on it.

Well, Google didn't, so things haven't moved for almost 5 years now (iPads are sort of the same too), allowing space for cockroaches like Wintel to get in and contaminate the waters: so all we get nowadays is a giant step back in consumption and battery life with those damn windows tablets. They're bad for productivity too as they're decimated by real laptops (with more power, bigger screens, base heavy design).

"Kudos" to Apple and Google for destroying an once thriving segment due to their intertia. I won't give kudos to wintel, they represent decadence. They only take over segments of the industry that have long ceased being innovative or interesting, like cockroaches invading an abandoned house.

One of the biggest mistakes, M$ ever made, was not giving enough attention to ARM.
Instead porting Windows to ARM architecture, they made RT.
Personally, I like intel CPUs more, but ARM is more power efficient.
                            RT was born dead.
All recent tablets either have Android or Full Windows (8 or 8.1).
Intel Atom SOC is compatible to full windows (Surface 3 uses Atom X7 for example).
Windows under 8 inch is Free for all Manufacturers.
                            And Mi Pad is 7.9.
There's no reason to put either RT or W10m in, unless Xiaomi don't want that version to be sold.
