Replacements for faulty devices are anyway entertained. Only returns are withdrawn. Even offline commerce rarely entertains return and refund, for most products. I do not think in any geographical region return and refund is a meaningful business practice. In fact, only some e-retailers had adopted that "luxury" to attract customers and naturally paid the price. For example, one can not even ask for replacement if the device is unusually hot from the direct sale Mi.com site; you are directed to approach the service center! The comments about honesty, Indians abusing system etc. are perhaps out-of-context here because when you give an option you can not complain about how it is used. In fact, customers who import from e-retailers irrespective of country very often face loss of money if undelivered by the shipping services (inexpensive ones) and even for any faulty product return shipping will have to be borne by customer, of course. Again only replacements are entertained, no refund. Refund is possible only if order is cancelled before being shipped. Businesses have to be business-like not charity-like!

Amazon is contradicting their advertising campaign of 'easy return policy'.
They should do some setup in major cities where the buyers can actually see and feel the product before deciding to buy because I can't judge a phone just by watching some YouTube video. I myself have returned few phones previously and finally chose to stick with vibe x3. I Dont think it should be considered as a cheap move. I agree there are many people who abused the system, but calling everyone who asked for a return and refund from amazon can be generalized as a corrupt or abuser or whatsoever one is allegating.

Buyers in every country does the same. I sell as a business on ebay and amazon in uk and when it comes to electronics, the buyer just return without any reason and seller loses both way postage, devaluation of item and if it contains consumables (inks installed in printers etc) then they are lost as well..... so in the end a seller loses f**g lot of money let alone profit. I wish the same policy is implemented Europe wide as well.

                    Yes, Good move by Amazon.
Though i want to know, whats the return policy in another countries? Are people in another countries same as in India.
I for sure knew that this policy wont work in India. Indians just grab the opportunity to abuse the system.

It's a shame that you blame others. If you can't live, accept it but don't question others. It is your perspective; and unfortunately it's wrong! U should understand whom to keep as your role model. U r gutless or may be spineless but those who want to live life honestly do live their life that way!

                          Dear friend,
You seem to have a huge spin and balls. I am not going to explain to you everything in details. I "accepted" these people when I lived in India like many people do. As you can see in the comments, I am not the only one who think like me. You realize the disastrous situation even more when you live abroad.
Just imagine where India could be now if some decent people would rule this great country.

Anyways yes 10 million would be 1 percent but what I was aiming for was 1 for every 1000 people so that'd be 0.1% but that's still probably being very generous. Still, more people means more bad people.

This is why I keep using the word 'cheap' for Indians, well at least most of them. For these sewer-living-worthy persons honest people have to pay the price, shame really.
