There are many invalid statements in this article.
1. Flash is supported in mobile. Of course, only Android supports Flash. But you still can install Adobe Flash on any Android phone.
2. The reason why Google has switched to HTML5 ads is that it is not possible to block HTML5 media in browsers. No browsers have Click-to-Play feature for HTML5 media content. While all browsers have Click-to-Play blocking method for Adobe Flash.
And this is why I hate HTML5 and still use flash. I disable HTML5 and other media in Firefox with about:config commands like this: media.webm.enabled false . Firefox is the only browser for both desktop and mobile that allows to completely disable HTML5.
I won't use HTML5 unless someone create a Click To Play blocking method for HTML5 media.

This only prooves how malefic Google is.
First they blocked their users of having access to flash player content, then they made sure that they would have an exclusive access to a usrs private data and forced him to concede the right to sell them in 3rd party companies in order to use his phone/tablet/browser.
And now they will force him to be bombarded with aimed ad-smart-bombs of their choice in a fully controlled enviroment.

Can't say that anything of value was lost here. There are quite a few companies that need to adapt to this change, but I don't think this was a massive surprise to anyone. Flash has been on the way out for years already.

Wonder where that leaves Microsofts imitation - was it silverlight, silvernight, silversight or something. Or perhaps it has been left already.
