More sell, more profit. Secondly if sometimes later this concept backfires and they stop production of these headsets you're will never be able to listen anything from these handsets.

3.5mm connectors are "a thing from the past" yeeees sure, you can't rip off as much from these as you can if you include a DAC and amp with each headphones. They break less and are easier to repair. Now what? You buy the entire DAC every single time. And do you believe the cables will break less often? kek.

Frankly some stuff should just never change. I can't find a single reason why it's beneficial to have this instead of the sending device having the DAC inside itself. There's simply no advantage at all, you'll just have to pay for a DAC every single headphone you own. Corporations have nothing to invent, then they resort to screw something good and change it to something more profitable instead.

I sincerely hope this just catches as a replacement to USB headphones, but never ever as a general solution. Not in phones, not anywhere.

So many type of propriety ports arrived and went to rest so as to replace the iconic 3.5 mm audio jack. Lets see what USB type-C brings.

I need to see at least one example of quality USB Type-C headphone with in-built quality DAC (ESS or Cirrus Logic) and headphone amplifier (Texas Instuments or Analog Devices) to convince me to have a LeEco. Until then any music lover like me is going to stay away from LeEco devices.

I am fine with that if they can solve the listening while charging dilemma!

You can't tell how good/bad are they until you put them on a solid tests and comparison
Even if it's China made i'd call it a go for if it's at the same point of quality as what they're saying

I hope the cables are longer than they look in comparison to the headphones.

Will these work with all type c charging ports of other brands, or at least their own brand?
