Mediatek chips are good, and that is an impressive score, but it means nothing. Comparing current production 2016(and older) chips to a next gen prototypes is kind of pointless. Lets see how the X30 compares to the snapdragon 830...

Why aren't they introduce the helio x80 chipset the flagship of 2020. Maybe it could produce 500k antutu. It looks much better

Actually, they should use Nvidia Pascal GPU, since Nvidia does sells their GPU as standalone addons for other ARM chips.

I would look forward to them adding A35 to their P series, however. Hope P25/P30 would either be 4XA35+4XA53 OctaCore or 4XA35+2XArtemis HexaCore.

                  dear mediatek,

we need real world performance not just antutu.
also we need to see if it heats up overtime and how does the update support. giving us high score in antutu doesn't prove that much.
                  we need optimizations though.

Mediatek will get better if they provide sources for updates. For example take android one which uses mt6582 which runs marshmallow 6.0.1 and every upfate makes it butter smooth. So take care of updates to get better optimization.

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2016Antutu is a ridiculous test. Stop reporting it. Single core... moreTrue,, a super new car engine "lets say for made up example" may allow it to go to 25,000 RPM but the minute you let the clutch out it stalls because it only produces 1 horse power. Even with all these tests it is not real life performance,, look at the Nexus 5 that thing flew it just got everything correct yet the S7 is having bits of stuttering perhaps caused by touchwizz. It is the whole combined experience and real life performance that counts.

That said though I still find benchmarks fun and enjoy all this competition and watching a phone go through the benchmarks. Perhaps I get too serious and should just enjoy it.

Im sure crap oems like vivo, xiaomi, leeco, oppo, asus, etc will adopt this chipset. Benchmark scores are just numbers not the actual performance but all those oems would boast about this chipset like "we got the best chipset in our devices and were sure that we will beat all the other devices". And shit people will buy it no question without even asking themselves if the devices those oems produce have souls. We all know that they just want to be the next apple so they cram into your faces their devices and youre all blind enough to buy their shits.

Antutu is a ridiculous test. Stop reporting it. Single core and GPU will never be of primary importance to android in real time use. Yet that's what Antutu mostly measures because it's a completely upside down test.

IO performance, Ram bandwidth, Ram size and multi threaded performance are the most important predictors of good performance in Android, yet they're hardly reported by Antutu or they play a minor role.

Antutu is an upside down benchmark. What it deems important isn't, and top chips are not necessarily top performers (unless they're also top on those other categories too).

The fact that X30 tops Antutu tells me nothing... and it shouldn't tell anything to anybody else.
