Indian government has always been greedy for tax so that the politicians can grab more and continue their power. If the people of India has to get the right benefit from the foreign goods corruption has to be handled more seriously. This way tax system will have a positive effect.

Thats why many companies choose indian market.
In my country, most of us replace our phones once in every 2 or 3 years. Maybe indians do that once or even twice a year.

There is no taxation preventing carriers from selling subsidized devices in India. Carrier subsidization is banned because its considered anti-competitive and it should stay that way.

Apple has great build quality and no doubt abou it. I dont know about after sale service. Apple need to reduce cost of device. I would say ban sale of pre used devices which apple is planning. Ecosystem is useless if its not economical. Taxes are here to stay and they should stay. India has good startup. Get smartron

To Apple this is one of the best places to dump recycled and refurbished products. An Indian would rather spend 20K on an outdated 5S rather than a 20K android premium midranger. No offence to Indians but a study showed Indians and Chinese are too fixated on showing off tangible goods rather than intangible. For example, Indians would spend big money on a car to show off rather than a good mediclaim policy.
