It's like having the most appropriate tool for the job without hurting the user.
In dark times of old-school charging, people found a way to bypass the regulated Amperes (kernel level) for über charging purposes. This is what sticks to the mind of the public as 'dangerous'.

I am skeptical about how safe this thing is for our smartphones. If you bypass the phone circuitry meant for charging then clearly you have not selected the optimum route , which can lead to the risk of fire due to over-voltage or high current draw. And can the charging cables bear that kind of load.

Depends how long it takes for the full charge. At samsung galaxy s6, from 98% to full 100% it takes 20- 25 minutes !!! For just 2 percents !!! We want full 100% in 30 minutes !!!
