22 July, 2016
The handset does however sport a dual camera setup on the rear, as well as a MediaTek SoC with a deca-core CPU.

MediaTek this time obviously on the wrong path, the path that exactly what smears Qualcomm's brand with poops last year. Instead of going with the momentum, they choose to focus on, ONCE AGAIN, adding cores into the SoC, not optimizing on the new Cortex a72 and combine it with cortex a53, like HiSilicon & Qualcomm did. The result is, Qualcomm getting a head start, getting back all the cake in mid-to high-range smartphones. Although a bit late, but HiSilicon got more time to optimized Kirin 950 & 955 to be the worthy opponent of Exynos 7, the all-new Exynos 8, and Snapdragon 820.

And MediaTek? Again, they face the same disaster as Qualcomm last year: overheating. Helio X25 proved to be overheating on Meizu, which make Meizu [probably] lamenting their decision not to go for Qualcomm 650 or 652

If only MediaTek implements the winning formula as Qualcomm; focusing on the quality & capability of CPU & GPU over quantity, the might be a SERIOUS rival of Qualcomm even more than now.

        winning formula of MediaTek:

        Low-cost SoC: 2x A72 @ 1.5-2 GHz + 2x A53 @ 1.5-1.8 GHz, GPU MALI T860 MP2 @500-650 MHz
        Mid-cost SoC: 2x A72 @ 2.0-2.5 GHz + 4x A53 @ 1.7-2 GHz, GPU MALI T880 MP4 @650-750 MHz
        High-cost SoC: 4x A72 @ 2.0-2.5 GHz + 4x A53 @ 1.7-2 GHz, GPU MALI T880 MP8 @750-900 MHz

Considering MediaTek's way of balancing between power efficiency and performance, it's ok to lower the GPU cores & core clock, but high-end SoC needs more than power efficient SoC; therefore they need to upped the GPU cores and core clock

helio x25 is more powerful than SD652 for sure since it have higher clocked A72 processor and better GPU , mali T880 mp4 deffinitely better than adreno 510 ,,,,,,, but mediatek chips isn really reliable so even though its more powerfull it will lag and force close and hang up and freeze since itsnt well optimized compared to SD , for now i wish SD just start using Mali GPU in their chips since they have wide range of choices and not stuck in either very low 306/405 or mid 510 or high end 530 .... the hell why not try using last year high end gpu 418-430 in this year mid range chips like 650+ .......................

we didnt see aphone working ith helio x25 yet so lets hope for best :)

            Kash, 23 Jul 2016you cannot say that x25 is better than sd652. It has got 4 ... moreYou obviously have confused A72 with A53 cores. While SD652 has 4 A72 + 4 A53, X25 has 2 A72 + 8 A53.

According to Geekbench results single core performance of Helio X25 is 20-25% faster than SD652.

Apparently you have confused X20 with X25 too. According to Gfxbench (don't confuse it with Geekbench), GPU of X25 is again faster 20-25% faster than SD652's.

It has got 4 cortex a53 cores as compared to 2 in x25. Also, the gpu in sd652 is way more powerful and better than the one in x25. However, the multi core performance of x25 is better.

But still it would cost just maybe 400-500$ because its chinese company. They are not about marketing, nor massive advertisement, nor best quality. But its the best for budget company.
