Fitbri, 25 Jul 2016Nokia is returning. Awesome. It does not matter if someone ... moreUnfortunately, majority of Nokia's tech and talent are no longer at Nokia - that is the biggest problem. They either got taken over by Microsoft and fired/ditched or left to other companies. It's tragic, that due to terrible management a company went from controlling 50% of THE WHOLE SMARTPHONE MARKET to nothing in just a few years. I believe there should be consequences. Even if I wasn't a fan of late Nokia phones, it is indeed a challenge to ruin such big company so fast. When Android came, it was the easiest thing in the world to ride the wave given to you for free, and even Samsung wasn't a major competitor to Nokia back then. Nokia could have easily been what Samsung is now.

Drax, 25 Jul 2016Nokia's downfall began the day it appointed Stephen Elop, a... moreyou don't need to worry, that dude Elop will be dying soon and will be laughed at, specially when Nokia will release the flagship they made last year running on Android and ditching those watercolored cases, Nokia has fallen pretty bad but will rise again, mark those words

Nokia's downfall began the day it appointed Stephen Elop, a Trojan horse from Microsoft, as the company's CEO and ditched Symbian in favor for Windows Phone OS as the main operating system for their phones. Microsoft didn't develop Windows Phone OS to levels of Android & iOS and that's the reason it is a failed OS for phones. The management probably went emotional with Stephen Elop's "burning platform memo on Symbian" and also wanted to differentiate themself in a saturated market of Android. It's good to see Nokia's making a comeback but their phones will be manufactured by Foxconn, the world's largest electronics OEM manufacturer and the same company that manufactures iPhones for Apple. I myself have an "InFocus M2 (3G)" a cheap Android phone which is manufactured by Foxconn and the build quality is solid so I don't doubt the build quality of upcoming Nokia phones. What I think is that, while it's a good idea to go with Android, Nokia will have little part in the designing process and main issue would be the user experience on the software level, they won't be able to provide an unmatched user experience on the software part because it isn't their homegrown OS like Symbian and MeeGo was. It would be better to go with their own OS but I guess, in today's market people won't buy an OS that lacks applications which is the reason for the low market share of Windows Phone OS. So at the end, I would say, it's a good decision to go with Android to make some profit and finally come back to the business and I hope Nokia, in future, will adopt Sailfish OS (Revamped MeeGo/Maemo OS) and further develop it on one side along riding on the Android wagon because you can't go with Symbian OS which was never developed with touchscreen in mind.

The yellow one in the middle looks like a lumia 1520.

Nokia is returning. Awesome. It does not matter if someone like Foxconn is producing as it will be under strict licence. Like so many things where produced outside, which is perfectly normal, the main design originates with the company their working for. Nokia, is renowned for overall quality so is HTC. So I look forward to some style with thinking that's outside the square, playful, innovative and classy. Bring it on.

The big yellow one in the middle is probably the Lumia 1520. I guess you are thinking of the yellow one at the edge as a prototype.

Biggest blunder ever. Nokia should never had chosen Microsoft as main OS. It should have focused on developing their Belle OS (Simbian^3) while offering Android as well as Microsoft devices just like any other OEM.
When you compare the build quality to what Microsoft builds using the same fasilities. It's clear that Microsoft is the soul responsible for the decline in interest for the brilliant OS. They keep on launching things in beta status for devs while most of them don't make it to an official release. And if it does then the global availability isn't there. No coordination what so ever. No clearly defined vision. And above all no ears for customer complaints when it comes to the crappy devices they produce. I am still a fan of the OS but certainly not of Microsoft.
