Junker12315, 30 Aug 2016It has an IPS display, so yeah it is led (but not the shit... moreLed and LCDs are two different panels. There are 3 current panels for smartphones namely, AMOLED, LCD and OLED, with AMOLED being the better among the three at producing better power efficient, deeper blacks and more saturations(comes down to one's own personal preference) second comes the OLED and lastly LCD due to its power hungry and grayish blacks principle

AnonD-564674, 29 Aug 2016Nope, the state-of-the-art SoC architecture by ARM is Corte... moreThe fact that you've said too much without actually believing in it is really cool of you to be undeterred by facts. Cortex a73 is good but honestly I haven't heard of it since it's not yet being implemented YET!! SO that ultimately makes cortex a72 the present best, period. Comparing adreno with Mali is quite sceptical of you. While Mali is good and handles most of the tasks well, the adreno on the other hand just does it better. Mali is just not as stable(not there yet) as adrenos there's a slight caution while going for a Mali GPU but you can be rest assured with adreno's performance. You're right about mtk 6752 performing better over sd615 but you cannot ignore the fact that both of these SOCs had heating issue which brings it to the conclusion that although neither of these two can be considered stable, the SD 615 was more consistent in its performance. The SD 810 was no doubt a fail but that's nothing compared to meditek's failure to produce better chips either. Mediatek's should've went for kyro cores instead of fiddling with cortex. There's no denying that snapdragon jumped right back in track with snapdragon 650 and 652 making it currently the best soc for mid range. And yeah, there are changes made like the speaker grills has now moved to the bottom unlike redmi note 3's with its speaker on the back. Slight increased in battery capacity 4100mah over 4000. Runs on Android Marshmallow themed with miui8. As for the price, it is no surprise to see price drop as this happens with all other brands in order to do so ,they need to cut down on price of the older phone so that they can be replaced by the new one(after making enough bucks) which was being sold at the same price last year. Isn't it logical enough to understand that, bringing in a new predecessor and selling it at the exact price is as the old one would be stupid? No one would be willing to buy the old one for the exact price as the new one. This is the reason why they slash the price, it's a marketing strategy and doesn't make Redmi note 3 a bad phone.

vicky, 27 Aug 2016I heard it has led displayIt has an IPS display, so yeah it is led (but not the shitiest type).
IPS is findable in nexus 5, iphones, Huawei p9...
It's to make them cheaply, since the 2gb type is $140 and the 3gb ram 64gb rom is $180.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2016But adreno 530 is clocked lower than Mali t880. Also both o... morehttp://www.notebookcheck.net/Qualcomm-Adreno-530.156189.0.html
                http://www.notebookcheck.net/ARM-Mali-T880-MP4.159590.0.html
Benchmark data speaks, dude. T880 MP4 is far inferior to Adreno 530, it's logical since even its MP12 variant with triple more cores is also behind Adreno 530. Clock speed is not everything, there are still other factors to consider when talking about GPU/CPU. Apple Twister core is only 1.8 GHz clocked but is still faster than Kryo 2.15 GHz, let alone the standard ARM cores.

AnonD-312515, 28 Aug 2016Bruh I don't need that many cores, Deca-Core that's ridicul... moreWell, if the hotplug implementation is correct, in the sense that mid and high cores will be totally offline unless required, that means the SoC will act as if it's only powered by 4 A53 cores, which should indeed be a great battery saver.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2016Cortex a72 in itself is the currently the best architecture... moreNope, the state-of-the-art SoC architecture by ARM is Cortex A73.
Cortex A72 is 2015 best SoC architecture from ARM.
The thing is, choosing Cortex A72 as the main selling point is ok, BUT MediaTek really miss the opportunity to ride the momentum of their "victory" over Qualcomm SoC in 2015 (MT6752 wins over SD615, MT6795 Helio X10 performs more stable than SD810, even the low cost MT6732 performs better than SD4xx series).
Helio X20, as MediaTek's ultimate SoC series SHOULD have given 4core of Cortex A72 high-clocked, 4core A53 medium-clocked, and 2core A53 low-clocked for maintaining background process and battery saver. Even Qualcomm realized this and make 2 variants of SD65x; SD650 for mid-range Android and SD652 for upper-mid range Android.

As it is now, Helio X20 in Redmi note 4 will only gain "slight"performance advantage, thanks to their "extra" 4core A53 low-clocked and also gain "slight" GPU advantage over Adreno 510, thanks to the new Mali T880. Moreover, Xiaomi choose to "re-use" almost ALL the feature available on Redmi Note 3 Helio X10 version; the same 13MP + 5MP Camera, the same 5.5" 1080p IPS LCD, the same fingerprint scanner at the same placement, even the same battery capacity and the same unremovable options! So, for better or worse, people will choose to buy Redmi Note 3 SD650 version over Redmi Note 4 for the time being, as its price tag is way much cheaper to buy now than several months ago (in Indonesia, several months ago u must pay for US$200 for Redmi Note 3 SD650 version with 2GB RAM, while now u can pay it for only US$124.
