They need customers more than customers need them. I am airing my *opinion* how they could bring more customers to the fold by being more open.

yes it will be packed with faster cpu / gpu and bigger battery (slightly at best)
but I think they will drop the price by $100 this time to make it up

The battery life was so bad that it drains 10% on standby. Every one of my friend was going crazy and some of them even swap it when it's almost 1 year but battery life was still same. Point is, some companies has it's bad days.

I bought a nexus 5x and i couldn't bear android os as well as pathetic battery of the device. Then i bought an iphone 6s and once again it became obvious to me that how much Apple owes to android. If android is not this awful, then Apple cannot sell its overpirced devices. Anyway, 6s is really fast and functional with 6+ hours of working on screen (It was at most 4 hours with nexus). Great apps, much better audio outcome, nice build quality and so and so. The negative point is the camera, 5x HDR+ was astonishing. I will buy 2016 or 2017 iphone definitely.

maybe they should approach differently or maybe they have really good upgrades this years and next will be focusing mainly in the display we'll just have to wait and see for september
i guess either way they'll make profits so hope for the best :)

Don't really care what it is but they got to put something new on this upcoming iPhones
cause all we know for sure is they took out the earphone jack at this point
If not, this year could be their lowest sales since iPhone came out

Basically you won't see a major change in the upcoming iPhone 7.
If you want major transformation, then you need to wait for iPhone 7S in 2017.

Apple is finally catching up to the google design language. Nexus phones don't have a button since late 2011. And if we look back to linux based phones, Nokia N900 was the first (or the first modern) touchscreen phone without buttons on the same plane as the screen.
