Microsoft's Lumia line will be killed off in December, report claims

09 September 2016
That is apparently when the company will cease sales for all Lumia devices.

They are still making money though. They DID say that they will be making 3-4 phones a year. This may seem strange to Samsung users since they pump out gazillions of phones. Lumia is one of the best phone lineups ever, and Microsoft won't be killing it off anytime soon (they even made an official claim). So W10m fans, don't worry, MS is not going to go bankrupt. To all of you bashing W10m, stop wasting your breath, you won't change the fact that W10m will live on no matter how much you try.

      Sad, but no wonder.
      I saw that coming...

M$ was late to start, lazy to develop and dumb to adapt.

Any new name and rebranding will never save because the lack of apps is still the same and the ugly os with big squares will be the same. It is like giving a new painting to an old damaged car.

I bought my 950 XL (it's named Microsoft, not Lumia) back in March to replace my ruined Nokia Lumia 1520 (ruined by an official firmware to update it to Windows 10 Mobile).

Very entertaining device just like its predecessor the 1520, so no regrets (and I'll get that 1520 fixed soon using their software recovery tool when I have time for the hustle which was rather unnecessary, thanks Microsoft).

Now I can't wait for that HP Elite x3 to hit the shops around here.

            AnonD-576629, 09 Sep 2016rip lumia! Just a name.
Lumia is too close to Nokia.
They remain with surface phones, top of the line and leave the rest of the phones to professional manufactures companies.

                        It's a sad day.

I had the Nokia Lumia 520 which was the best selling windows phone.

What I can say, is that Windows OS is very smooth.

To be honest, I don't think there's anything that could save Microsoft's Windows phone, and overall their lineup. A new lineup will definitely not help them. (Unless they get themselves up with apps, improvements and fixes which is unlikely in that short period of time)

                          They tried, they failed.

ROFL a report from "an employee"
rumours will always be rumours untill deadline, so does this means that lumia fans have to rush to buy the ones left?? maybe some will wait till the price drop but it is fairly low now so wonder who hasn't bought them yet (of the ones wanting them i mean)
i do hope surface phone and google phone are good cuz i'd like to see the mobile division rising ^_^
