So what are they even gonna offer with the surface phone? They have failed in making their store grow and attracting developers and their phones didn't even sell well, despite the lumia name which is still seen as something from nokia, rather than from MS. They better just stay with software development. Because that's their forte.

Lumia was one of the popular lines which had windows OS. It was coz of Lumia that OS gained the market.

Killing of product line will not help, if MS is looking for gaining market for windows. Instead Windows experience is something they should work on and improve. of course its a good OS and works efficiently on low end hardware equally. But somehow its has not clicked (except 520 ).

This move probably could be coz inspite of taking over Nokia, Lumia still is remembered as more Nokia and less MS.
MS even killed Asha line, which was decent low end, pocket friendly touch phone.

Anyways lets wait and see how Surface phones turn out.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2016Its just appa. Its so simple. No youtube app after what 5 y... moreYouTube apps on WP (myTube, metrotube, etc.) are THE best apps. The interface is smooth, there are fewer lags, there are options to save to sd card, save only music, and a lot more. Have you used it? No.
While the app gap definitely exists, there are features in WP that are really helpful, plus fewer lags and better battery backup. Camera performs better compared to similarly priced products and MOST IMPORTANTLY, customer service is much, much better than most android devices. But you only care for specs and Pokemon go, so buy your over-specced mobile and leave us WP users alone. It's not like we aren't frustrated with Microsoft, it's just that WP is still more convenient than android (I don't need to shut down seven hundred background processes and free RAM every minute, or run clean master each day, or stress over how to shift apps to sd card, or root and use custom roM, or be frustrated by bloatware, or worry about next update, etc. etc.) Simple is good enough, MS is bullshitting about with an OS that clearly could become among the best. Also, I have used next to latest flagships of both Apple, Samsung and Sony before I say that. The former is too costly and the later ones are not optimized enough despite good hardware. So good luck, use your phone just let us use ours until we can.

this brand was better of with Nokia then Microsoft.
Im sure Nokia must have sold the most lumia phone then Microsoft ever did.
Im hoping to see nokia back and making ass kiking phones :)

Microsoft is bad with making and selling phone. I still remember seeing all the unique campaigns Nokia did to sell the lumia phones, whereas Microsoft has no idea on how to sell a phone.

This wouldn't happen if Bill Gates was still CEO. He recovered the team from Vista with the release of 7. Didn't even have to fire a lot of people. Resigned and what we got now is poor Lumia sales from lack of decent advertising and hardware / software support, Windows 8, Windows 10 update scandal plus its lukewarm reviews including sales, continuous layoffs and now this. Bill, you're still alive. Make Microsoft great again.
