      What happens with these customers?
Do they get a full refund? Or an exchange for an S7 Edge (with some additional goodies to compensate for the troubles)?

I would like to know. Any (ex-)Note 7 users wishing to spill the beans on how this "return" gets handled?

      Thanks in advance.

symbian, 11 Oct 2016i miss symbian.it was awesome. You mean:

..the last itteration of Symbian was awesome.

        Indeed Symbian Belle was fantastic.

But that was partly due to good hardware (C7/701/808PV) with enough system memory onboard. I loved my 808PV although the series was also plagued with HW-faults (like the famous 3G-bug). And while mine has no faults at all and still looks great and works fine, people seem to forget the bad times on Nokia road. A common flaw in many Symbian (S60) devices was that they had too less RAM. In that case Nokia was as bad in cutting corners as Samsung though at least their phones didn't go boom! :-(

I mean it's great phone don't take me wrong, but MiUI is a relatively heavy skin so upping the processor and the gpu by a few mhz (what *really* SD821 is when compared to SD820) won't make a difference in the world. Vanilla or Vanilla based phones would always be smother, run faster.

Besides RAM plays a giant role too. 4GB may seem a lot in theory for a phone, but MiUIs phone can only store handful apps in memory (again a heavy framework/skin/etc), imagine what those would suffer at the hands of an almost stock OnePlus 3 at 6GB... it's no fun how smoother OP3 actually (would) feel.

Android Authority has been telling people not to return their 1st phone and let's see if they will tell people not to return their 2nd phone. Android Authority is simply a Samsung marketing front.

what a sad day for Samsung, but what i don't like is the part in the post "And it all stemmed from Samsung’s desire to get the Note out before the iPhone 7" that's just an assumption, they had the 1 year release on schedule and it wasn't about iPhone, it was about their own deadline... still the issue remains and i still hope when they investigate they dismiss all the cases and tell the people it's safe to use the Note :)

At this point they should discontinue the Note 7 and focus more on the S8. But then...they must create a new, stable battery.
