Actually Nokias biggest mistake was not getting on board with large touch screen devices when the iPhone came out. People were screaming for 3.5" and nokia was still only offering 2.2-2.8".

Oren, 20 Oct 2016Microsoft is a Cancer on almost every aspect of technology,... more"stuck with symbian" ???

What do you mean? It was an OS that was truly ahead of its time. Unfortunately it wasn't a phone that was optimized for the Internet like the iPhone. Unfortunately it didn't have the play store like Android. But, with alien dalvik, some people were able to use Android apps on symbian.

Most new features that you all think are so new and revolutionary, have been available to my Nokia 808 for years... Symbian had these features years ahead of garbage iPhone and basic/simple Android.

Not having the best specs on Symbian was it's downfall. Just look at close Android 5.1 6.0. 7.0 look like stock symbian from 2012!!!

How about using the Nokia N8 as your base, and seeing how similar Android looks to that.

Stuck with symbian? If only it was compatible with Android apps, had better specs, it would still be around. There would be no need for that horrific decision to use that cancer Microsoft OS. And that parasite pathetic elop which dismantled Nokia. He made his millions, then made more when he hollowed out Nokia and returned to Microsoft.

How loved is Microsoft OS? Less than 1.3% market share world wide. Pathetic! At least symbian had a good 40% when .... No matter, here we are miserable without symbian and being forced to choose between Apple or Android.

We need more options. A possible hybrid between meego and symbian would be nice. As long as it has access to the play store so brain dead people can download their waste of time games and waste of time social media apps... Whatever... And the specs to match too

                  -Eric

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2016Indeed, a flagship with camera of 808 & 1020, with snap... moreSnapdragon 830 would be a better choice given that these phones are due next year.
Also, an updated version of the 808's camera will undeniably be a wise move. Seeing how a bunch of brain dead people only care about "good enough" just so they can post meaningless pictures and get meaningless feedback from scores of people proves why Samsung and Apple were able to sell so many phones, when compared to the king of camera phones, the 808. (I realize the OS plays a major factor, but seeing secretly sponsored websites declaring image quality on a garbage iPhone is superior to a Nokia 808 is utter nonsense!)

A battery with 3600mAh and 4-6GB RAM would make the future Nokia flagship a true powerhouse. Considering it will be octa-core.

And for the love of God please bring a true successor to the PurView camera that leaves both 808 and 1020 in the dust in all aspects

If the new Nokia phone as rumored will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat, feature 5.2 and 5.5-inch QHD OLED displays, a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 22.6MP camera, and a metal body with water and dust resistance, I would love to give it a try. Nokia's phones' shell are so sturdy with high quality that I love the most. unlike others that are so plasticky.

Microsoft is a Cancer on almost every aspect of technology, they don't have any product that is reliable (Except for Active Directory). Nokia was stuck with Symbian, but their biggest mistake was to not look forward and continue supporting the great MeeGo project, or go android. But I think (and Hope) that they have learned the lesson and that they will do things right again to start gaining his customers and followers respect again. I hope and I'm wishing a great return to the great NOKIA, I miss my N9 N70.
