LG G6 won't have any Friends as the company gives up on modular accessories

good...i had the worst experience with lg so far.i had the lg g2 memory issues..the g3 antenna issues.the g4 boot loop issues..the g5 major battery software issues..unfortunately lg top tier aint that top..im really disappointed and their service department is well.....its a same cuz their camera and software is on the great for camera good for the software...but letdown by the hardware part.its a shame actually .

I hope the G6 can keep the removable battery, but move to a waterproof design. I've owned every G model except the G5 which I opted not to get because it felt and looked cheap when compared to the last couple of Galaxy phones, Nexus 6p etc. I also still rock a V10 but wont be getting the V20 as I didnt want to wait for it to come out so I opted for the GS7.

I stuck with the G4 knowing that the modular feature was to be short lived. I hope they bring back the rocker button at the back. It's great when reading e-books. Otherwise, I may have to hold onto the G4 a bit longer.
One thing they can improve on is changing the location of the microSD card slot. Put it in the side so one can switch between cards without having to take the battery out.

Lg is simply a great mobile makers..they will be unique always.im a great fan of urs having all g3 g4 g5..all are very good..

G2 was the best, knock code, volume at back, good battery backup. G4 try to copy motorola leather but quality far from motorola. Module is motorola ARA idea so even LG partner with iphone can compete to motorola lol

The reason why the g5 wasnt a best seller is the fact that the previous g series had the life span of 6 months and then it dies a horrible bootloop death that lg tried to hide the fact it was a manufacturing error.

Samsung pushed early its note 5 release (2 months) because of existence of a large iphone, this is reacting to competition, and note 5 didn't have any explosions.. lg is going to its 6th G and losing badly to galaxy s every time and they are not learning...

IMO Modular accessories do have a future !
I agree the fact they should be executed in a better way (not as the G5) in order to make it more suitable for non-techy users. (pressing one button isn't hard, but swapping a 'case' like module is easier - LenoMoto)
The other huge factor is the price... Price it £29-39 and more people be willing to buy those accessories. That price basically equals to a case, manufacturer's sell themselves for their devices. Would there be profits on it? I certainly believe so, not as much, that's right...but these modules are kinda new, so why not buy users by giving it for them 'cheap', and charge extra in a few years for some actually useful stuff...
There would be risks, yeah, i agree on that one...But these giant companies could test it out like Samsung did (Galaxy Alpha, 'new' design, new build quality (s5 was the flagship then) just before the iphone announcement, that was great! Samsung was all over the news at that time)

S... morei agree, the original ara was the best concept of modular. until this year events where they made some awful changes, til finally scrapping the whole idea. LG's G5 and motorola's mods don't even come close. but good they tried though. it's just that they look like gimmicks compared to what project ara could have been.
