Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016It is definitely not more intuitive "save for the tiles par... moreWhat you said....SO TRUE!

Had this experience with Microsoft back when they sold Windows Mobile 5.0. The phone was one of the first fully functional touch screen smartphones. However, the Mobile 5 OS had more than a few bugs. One would have thought that they (Microsoft) would follow the same standards established with their desktop OS of providing regular updates. You would have thought wrong!

Further, as you pointed out, they made it impossible to upgrade the phone to the Windows Mobile 6 platform. Then, to make things worse, many of those who bought phones with 6.0 couldn't upgrade to 6.5!!! WTF Microsoft? At least Steve Ballmer admitted in an interview that Microsoft didn't execute well with the Windows Mobile platform: Duh!

The problem with Microsoft in the mobile space is they DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MARKET and are too arrogant to admit so. Time after time they have screwed over the consumer and now have shown they are habitual offenders.

Why did they get into the hardware business to begin with? Stupid move. Is that the strategy which led to their domination of the desktop market? No.

Instead of the arrogance of a huge corporation looking to headlock the phone industry into submission they should have been behaving as a humble, hungry small player (market share wise, they were) and worked closely with 3rd party hardware manufacturers to build the phone and license the OS at a very small fee and thrown incentives to developers to build apps for the platform.

Too little, too late. RIP Windows handset business:

Where is that Surface phone Terry Myerson? MWC is just around the corner and no release announcement for 2017?

    http://www.ibtimes.com.au/microsoft-surface-phone-2017-release-date-news-update-microsoft-focus-private-meetings-partners-mwc

This course seems to be similar to the one that led to the Blackberry shipwreck. Sorry Terry, but without a new phone in over a year and Microsoft's track record, you are OUT.

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2016What are you talking about there? Wut? Windows 10 w/ the... moreIt is definitely not more intuitive "save for the tiles part" or more useful. And more featured/ useful features? Lmfao!! Android is far more capable and plenty stable and secure.

And here is the issue yet again. As great as Windows phone could be they lack too much and the biggest issue is dropping all their users every couple years.
Android is only now just about to drop gingerbread...android 2.3 for crying out loud.
Even apple let's you use old iPhones like the iPhone 4 was even updated well for crying out loud.
But we are reaching another cycle of wp dropping their phones and support yet again.
But just like the ios claims...oh it's so lightweight and stable and optimized out doesn't need stronger hardware...until a couple years later when it's no longer upgradable because of weak hardware....hmmm mm but you just said.....logic. Why have you left us...

Screw WP, finally more acceptable Android. Nokia, please don't forget us, old customers, and include Pureview camera, replaceable battery, a clear, fast Android UI without bloatwares and maybe a high quality audio chip. And ofcource afforable low-to-mid ranges like 5230 or Lumia 820.

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2016Window is so perfect, no one give a da*m cuz it's UI is so ... moreThe majority of the buyers/consumers are actually unwillingly voting/choosing things they actually don't need, comprehend or want...and all of this, just because their friends have it. Or, their is to much advertisement of that product, everyone has it, must be good. If windows mobile was on iphone, am pretty sure everybody would have bought it and they were all crazy about how great the tiles are. And, the sinples way to put it for people to understand. If windows would have bee born before droid, and had all apps in the world, droid would have had the same faith, as now, windows has. The quality of a system cannot be compared with how many people uses it. So, before trooling along, learn some leasons about marketing and how, some Companies/people can sell crapp at a higher price then good products and still make people believe they pay premium for premium;), while spreading their bussiness across the globe.

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2016because it sounds discriminating. You do realise that even they, the Chinese, know their are a lot of garbage products coming out of their Country, right? I mean, if not, try talking with some, am pretty sure they will laugh about it to while telling you how fake batteries are sold along with original ines, that at some point not even they know which is which;).

Android is the way, 02 Dec 20165 or 10 years later only 2 OS for smartphones will live up:... moreWhat are you talking about there? Wut?

Windows 10 w/ the anniversary update has surpassed Android in almost all key areas. It's more secure, has more advanced (and actually useful) features, most advanced and useful user interface, more intuitive, better memory management, better battery management, better file management, better policies management flawless email/cloud sync, better keyboard, no crashing apps, no restarts needed, awesome manual camera controls, properly organised menus and submenus, and generally faster, more stable, and prettier than Android and any custom launcher you can get on it. And the list goes on.
The only area where Windows 10 is behind Android is in the number of apps in the Store. And still, Windows apps are superior to their iOS/Android counterparts. For example Youtube can play without showing any ads, can play under lockscreen, can play in the background while you're using other apps, etc. Can your iPhone/Android do that? Thought so. x)

So as long as you don't care about having access to hundreds and thousands of variations of the same useless, funny, fart apps, Windows phones are the better choice.

I know, because I've used the OnePlus 2 for the past year, and I've switched to the Lumia 950 a couple months ago. It's just insane. Everything looks and works better and faster on a Windows phone.

New Nokia phones have to come up with something very different in order to get even close to Samsung and Apple. All android phones have become so identical lately that Nokia has to come up with something different.
Suggestions: 5000 mah removable battery (very possible in a 6.0 inch phone ) smoother interface than any current Android and anything else that can make their phones different.

5 or 10 years later only 2 OS for smartphones will live up: Android & iOS. No need to discover America again!
Nokia investors wanted a proper Android phone to be released years ago but the management resisted it. If it had been done, most of us would have been using a Nokia Android phone now.
Nokia needs to stay away from this unreplaceable battery crowd. They have to check out designs of popular premium phones. No mickey mouse designs, please!
With the current designs of Microsoft phones, it is really difficult to convince an adult to buy it against a proper premium iOS or Android device. They look like toys to be used a while and thrown into thrash bin.
TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SERIOUSLY! Don't design the smartphones like an Ikea furniture of young children. They look silly. No mickey mouse phones, please!
