Why should they suffer? In their eyes, they have solved the problem although it might not retain the original Note 7 design but from a safety point of view there is no problems. Samsung should check if default battery is being used if at all possible before disabling the unit from charging or worse. Do not assume people's Note 7 are being powered by default samsung battery!

I mean sure. I've held a note 7 (trial model) and it's a frigging AWESOME phone. but it's not worth the hassle if the company wants it back at all costs.

I had a problem when I had the ancient s3 that the battery couldn't obtain power. and until I've gone to fix it. I've used external battery to power it. looks awkward. but it's awesome to slam on it a 9kmAh battery.

(yeah. couldn't have any other word for a PDA) if you like the original rom. if not. swap rom and save yourself from the penalties. or swap carrier to someone who doesn't block IMEI. (I wouldn't recommend any of this. I've been in Dutyfree and even held the note 7. it's AMAZINGLY BREATHAEKER looks. but not worth the hassle swapping from note 5 if they are THAT desperate. (and it was BEFORE the recall))

What if someone uses extended battery covers will it work? Samsung just diable all Note7 by end of this year

You mentioned holiday season. Imagine the risk when the phone explodes during the holiday crowd. It would be a total nightmare for Samsung, and as a company, they have to act to mitigate the risk. No matter how slim that chance is, it's a chance that Samsung cannot take unless they want their brand to be buried for good.

Samsung has recalled the phone, and even their engineers have acknowledged the risk. There is zero logic in keeping the phone and not exchanging it.
My guess is that only idiotic Trump supporters that still own and use these phones. Typical Americans.
