It's official: Note7 units in the US will stop charging on December 19, except Verizon's

Big Red will not issue the update that will prevent the phone from charging, essentially rendering it useless.

Alll you have to do is root your Note 7 like me and it wont get any OTA update. I still using me and nothing is wrong with it.

    Wow Samsung really wants to make this phone that much more collectable. The most collectable/valuable Note 7 will be one that never got any of the disabling/limiting updates. Maybe not now but in the future.

        Kudos to Verizon. This is wrong from Samsung to announce this measure now and disable the Note 7 after a week or so specially during the December holiday season. Samsung should postpone this update and inforce it by the end of January so the rest of Note 7 owner can have the last chance to either replace their device or get the refund. Again another rush decision from Samsung.

          people have had months to return their device, verizon should push it so what people won't have a usable phone, that's their fault, and it's not like there hasn't been notices, and warnings for people to return their phones.

            All Note 7 users should disable all automatic updates. Also, they should change the IMEI.

              amm..don't get me wrong, this is all cool to prevent any more accidents to happen...but they should've start with this right after making the recall announcement...
