10 January 2017
It happened six and a half years after its unveiling. On the other hand, Nougat is at a measly 0.7%.

Whatever phone you buy the android update only for 2 years. Then there will be zero update or just occassional security patch update. Or buy a new phone after 2 year. Isnt that hard. Sell your old phone. I doubt your phone still running on Froyo.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2017Nouget can run fine on Snapdragon 800 tho. It's just google... moreThat's my point. People are blaming Qualcomm while it is Google that intentionally put more stringent requirements that disallow SD800 devices to get Nougat. Google is to blame here, not Qualcomm. Sony had beta Nougat working properly on Z3, yet they couldn't release it since it would violate Google's certification. I don't understand why people keep blaming Qualcomm, giving Google a free pass.

Yet the only counter you have was the Pixel, which I pointed out is a lame excuse since it is not a common device around the world.

Do you even know what Nougat brings over MM? When Android was still new, getting the latest version is important. Today, not so much. Security patches is more critical, especially with Google making older hardware obsolete with newer versions. So I give Xiaomi kudos for willingly supporting their older cheap devices. Compare that to other OEMs that don't even care.

It depends on the OEM, not the system itself. Most OEMs release updates at different times. Some bring them earlier, some bring them later. If you buy a Google-built product, like the Pixel phone or the Pixel C, you'll get the update as soon as Google announces the date, on that date.

I'm just saying you won't get future updates on apps you have, that's a good thing sometimes, Cus updates sometimes destroy the purpose they were meant to do, chill fella !

Once its released on the Galaxy S7 and S6 it should double or triple maybe more.
