Samsung unveils Exynos 9 - a 10nm chip to challenge the Snapdragon 835

23 February 2017
A Gigabit LTE modem, beefy GPU and a strong focus on VR define this chip. It's not purely a phone chipset either, it will be used in cars as well.

I guess yet again Exynos will have poor NFC controller so wouldn't support Mifare Classic.

And most Americans will never really get a chance to experience this unless they import it. Samsung will find a way to make the Snapdragon 835 run like crap compared to the same phones with the same chipset. It is pure laziness and bad optimization on Samsung's part to watch phones like the OnePlus 3, LG G5, and HTC 10 smoke the S7 edge (SD820) silly last year with the same chipset.

Not that Americans should care about the Exynos anyway if they want their compatible LTE bands in their country. There is a trade-off. Americans get these phones cheaper, get many freebies/discounts, but more expensive service plans. Outside the United States, people can have the superior Exynos, cheaper (prepaid) plans but have to pay more for the phone upfront.

Remember this not for all. A lot of us can't have this.. hahaha. As i am poor. Please give me one..

well.. MAYBE it will be a bit quicker than Snapdragon 835. I'd still buy a phone equiped with the latter for various reasons..

AnonD-646953, 23 Feb 2017just search "mt6799" in geekbench :DThese aren't the final results for many obvious reasons.
              - look to the frequencies 1248Mhz...even the slower cluster on X30 will be clocked to 2.0Ghz
              - look to mt6797x results
              - know what cortex A73 is

Can you imagine mt6797x in 20nm with A72 provides about 1800pts in single core and X30 will only provides 1300 in 10nm...no sense at all!
My own Helio X20 is always around 1550-1600...with same TSMC 20nm process, Snapdragon 810 often falls under 1000 and sometime to 600!!!

              Single-core on X30 will be about 2100 or 2200pts, that's what A73 2.8Ghz will give!

For Android, a good year to Shine.

UP to now, no talk about UHD Displays equals to no frame drop for QHD displays with arrival of these giants.

Good to see this year's Flagships.

Just saying huge GPU can't work at full sustain performances.
And often haven't to do it...That's why you notice no throttling.

From 51.2fps, it falls to 24.8!!! Same test, played 30 Times!

Same with S6! After 10minutes Mt6752 with 760mp2 run faster in fullhd than Exynos 7420 with 760mp8 on QHD
                  Same with 805, 808, 810, 820
