AnonD-77443, 09 Mar 2017+1 only just saw your post.Specs page is so obviously wrong if this is the final design. If it's a 18.5:9 display the height has to be at least double the width to fit that display. And you have to add for the top and bottom bezels.

The fact is that, many people sti... moreWell said. Some people aren't aware that some users want to use their smartphone until it no longer turns on. But what keeps those lights on? Battery. The one component destined to die quicker than any other parr. A sealed battery would swell. Ruin that metal unibody design. We are under the mercy of the sealed battery's life expectancy and greedy companies' planned obsolescence.
I wouldn't want to upgrade in another 2-3 years when the phone works perfectly fine except the degraded, sealed battery and I need to redo everything on the newer phone and more time to transfer content. Sometimes newer isn't always better and an oldie can still be a goodie. I want the option to give it another few years of life like giving it a triple bypass for a new heart.
Removable battery will keep it running for life. This is why after seeing the G6 lack removable battery, we are now in the dark times ruled by fashion over function. People care more about build quality and design over performance and future proofing features. We moved backwards with excuses like we didn't use it that much or won't miss it.
The only phone I am mildly interested in is surprisingly the new 3310. It is cheap and it has removable battery, microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, and isn't made with a fragile glass rear. It just does its job as a PHONE and not trying to be pretentious like the users who buy pretty, $700+ throwaways.

The diagonal 6.2" is from corner to corner (ignoring curved corners) and the curved edges would only make a tiny difference to my numbers.
Either way, if it is an 18.5x9 screen ratio the rumored 152.4 x 78.5 s8+ dimensions GSMarena won't be correct.
Measuring up the leaked S8+ pics in CAD (which aren't square so its not real accurate) it is more like 155mm x 73mm. This is about in line with the Note 7 which makes more sense.
