The problem is the hardware. Which pretty much is 2nd rate this year (same was true with s6). Lower battery, low performance ( losing to last year's 3T according to this speedtest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX4JucpvbJM ), bad fingertip placing, awkward aspect ratio that creates more problems than it solves...

Infinitely amazing unit you wait for a newer version of android . Samsung fanboys don't know whats coming for them .
Keep in mind I've owned three samsung phones in the past years . I loved thier phones but not anymore . The hardware they provide is good...the camera ..display... what i dont like is the software (slow as hell software updates too) . Believe me the s8 will slow down
eventually . Might as well go for a custom rom

2) S6's screen was actually consuming less than S5's, the oppposite is true with S8 (as compared to S7). Also not really the sealing of the battery meant that you *had* to charge in particularly heavy day (can't pop a battery in anymore) ... meaning *drastically* lower autonomy. S6 was one of the greatest downgrades in the history of phones.
It also showed in sales they went from 70 mil to 45 mil, like the worse move Samsung could ever pull, pretty much killed the glamor of S series in one move.
3) QHD+ *is* QHD on a different aspect ratio. Just look at the PPI , virtually the same. No, they just changed the aspect ratio.
4) I was talking hardware, you were talking software. I said the hardware didn't age (just install LineageOS to see just that), the software of course it aged, it's Samsung, it's low quality. It will age again, this is a level playing field.
Also not everything goes better with LineAgeOS. For example Nexus phones may even go worse. It's only phones with great hardware that go better like S4 which is the best hardware ever (for its time). Note 4 was similarly perfect for its time as well.

2) s6 with smaller battery and higher resolution was better in endurance than s5
3) no samsung has uped the resolution to QHD+
4) alot of phones get better after lineageOS I am talking about stock rom touchwiz in s4 was so laggy after almost 5months of use it begun to lag currentlt using G2 and it hasnt lagged much sure it has sometimes but alot better than s4

[deleted post]Until Samsung gets good at software, anyone who buys this phone will be getting their awful, buggy, and slow skin and code on this thing. And since Nougat on the S7 phones is so bad, and every Samsung phone released in recent memory has been a buggy mess, call me a spoiled brat for wanting something more for my $800

Hardware on the S8 is fine, but Samsung really can't let go of their propriety dumping of Android for their skin. Not only does it look bad, but I assume that is gonna be buggy and slow just like every one of their flagships consistently.
By the way, I've owned a Galaxy S5, have multiple friends that own newer galaxies, and am going this on a Galaxy Tab S2, fyi

Try to check it and you'll probably change your comment regarding it's battery life. Some tech reviewers also claimed that the camera is better than the S7 edge.
