It is time to dump snapdragon 800 series and launch the new SD 900 series based on 10nm.
on geekbench 4, minimum single core performance should be around 3000
and minimum multi-core performance should be around 8500

A very close look on Qualcomm's behavior must exist
No single companies is able to sell high end soc if competition is trolled by patents. That's why competitors desapear. (Except companies that make soc for their own smartphones)
Mediatek manage to build stable CPU (despite rumors said thé opposite!...Many tests shows that 810 throttle, I made my own on X20 : full load on the ten cores during 10minutes without any performance drop!!!) In 20nm when Qualcomm release crappy 808/810.
Many soc from Mediatek are as good or even better than Qualcomm's direct competitors (6732 vs crappy 410 or 6752 vs poor 615).
Qualcomm protects high end with patents. They were comdamned un China, Korea, they loose against Blackberry, are under investigation in Europe and USA...
They were late un video decoding...h265 or vp9 were support later than Mediatek's
Krait CPU is weak (poor web performances for exemple) compare to cortex A17 from mt6595...Sales of 6595 were bad (only Meizu and Zopo use it)
Intel Z3580's were bad too...

It would be better to go with TSMC, I am fed up by the "all chips are mine till June-July" thing by Samsung!!!...but they must remain at Samsung if they want their chips in S9.
