As always Samsung makes great hardware, but disappoints in optimization. Ars found the SD835-powered S8 is drops frames when scrolling apps, even at the lowest resolution. The Pixel does not stutter despite the "inferior" SD821.

For example I remember guys saying in 2011 don't buy Intel CPU, the 2012 model would be better. Actually it wasn't (especially if you overclock), in fact not even the 2017 model is that much better (if you overclock both, then the 2017 model is only 30% faster).
In short, we're entering the diminishing returns era. Buy *now* don't wait. You'd get semi-max performance for maximum time, if you buy next year you'll basically buy the same performance but have it for one year less.

qualcomm is samsung exclusive , mediatek is useless , Apple ask different company every year to make their chips , srsly the market need anew company or else we will always see what happened this year with all flags launching with old chips. was looking forward seeing hellio x30 in any device still not to be found . btw i dnt mind SD820 in aphone launching this year but it shouldnt charge flagship price .

This might be more important than previously as Samsung likely expects to sell quite a lot more S8 in the US than previously.

Well, if it will be Samsung to create Qualcomm's SD845 or if it will be TSMC, it's not really crucial, the most important is that it will be more power efficient, more powerful and ready in time. And after all Samsung already have their own Exynos to work on and improving it much more.

10 nano meter is size of the GATE,. 1nm is size of an (OXYGEN/CARBON/SILICON?PHOSPHORUS) atom.if i say 3 nm its about the structure. in 3nm case for example, 2 Si atom and 1 K atom(impurity/eletron provider).but 3nm is too small it ll heat up and then gate ll burnout so 3 nm is as small as it can get according to moore's law by 2019. 10 nm
my surface has 22nmCHIP but also it have a 22nm Magnum chassy to match. my phone your fone and president's fone is 16nm, latest intel chip is 14 nm. super servers of IBM are 7 nm...10 nm!dont buy

And Huawei and MediaTek want in on TSMC's 10nm process (though MT reportedly slashed its order in half). How much capacity can TSMC muster, considering that it's a brand new process and yield won't be great at first?

i doubt if QC can get enough capacity from QC since Apple has already called dibs on it. but then again TSMC might have already increased some capacity on 10nm by then to offer to other customers.
