22 May 2017
The expected Nokia flagship should offer some of the best performance in the Android world.

Anonymous, 22 May 2017It uses the same SD835 that everybody and his dog is using.... moreYou have no idea what you're talking about, besides that you advise people to do what? Follow you? Nokia is not dead. The company never went bankrupt and suddenly reappeared. If you do not know, understand and have a brain, then please, for people sake...just don't say nothing! Not only that will save you some energy but also you will look more intelligent, now, i am not claiming that you are not, i have my doubts;).

J o m s, 23 May 2017Are you an iD!*t? You know you can't run any app or game or... moreI'm a developer myself so yes, i'm well aware what hardware being used thank you. Again, with opening a simple application that do not requirer any CPU (and by that I mean its not a CPU heavy app) the loading animation will account for a large portion of the total time it takes to open the app. Therefor a phone with pretty much no app opening animations like the Oneplus 3T will be faster in some cases.
But when you open apps that actually use some CPU and take some time to load (like a game) that quick animation won't matter as much.
Again look at all my links, the iPhone is faster (and way way faster in the heavy photo/video and 3D animation editing tests) than Oneplus 3T. As soon as you doing any heavy stuff the iPhone pulls head.

Stan, 23 May 2017These benchmarks remind me of Intel Kaby Lake vs AMD Ryzen.... moreNot so much different. Most apps still use two threads at most. One UI thread, one background task which usually queued, one execution at a time, providing that most developers, specially newbies, doesn't care about threads at all and just using UI thread and async task (Android) / gcd (iOS) without bothering to think whether they need to use special queues. Though in iOS case, it does not affect the whole picture since A10 only have two active cores (that's two threads). In Android, this behavior may wasting the unused cores (or may not, depends on the case).

J o m s, 23 May 2017Are you an iD!*t? You know you can't run any app or game or... moreReally? As far as I remember, CPU load is as heave as GPU when playing games. Sure, GPU handle all complex mathematics for rendering the game. But who handle the, also complex, mathematics for, physics, AI, etc? Yup... It's the CPU.

A good game developer will try to utilize as many cores possible for their use case. But deciding how many cores they will utilize is not an easy feat. While using more cores does give out more performance, they do sipping more power resources. And not every case can be tackled with multi-core processing. So having powerful single core performance is always a feat.

These benchmarks remind me of Intel Kaby Lake vs AMD Ryzen. Intel has fewer cores with awesome IPC, while AMD has a ton of cores with great parallel processing power. Now i wonder, in desktop PCs a good IPC means better in-game performance, given that there are at least 4 cores. How does multi-core performance affect the mobile OS performance and power consumption?

What does that even mean??? I asked you a simple question. I did not give any "answers". I'll ask it again, since you can't read....

Where did you get the idea that the OnePlus 5 has better benchmark scores then the Nokia 9?

Its the company which holds the same old Nokia experienced staff. It produces same Nokia quality phone(Nokia 6 tested). Even the board has a member of original Nokia which is still in great shape. And finally those who say Chinese, if you say finish company (HMD global) Chinese then you are probably Chinese.

kurotsuki, 22 May 2017That single core test.... A10 really gives out nearly doubl... moreThe difference is due to silicon area, the cores in a10 are bigger than in snap 835, so more transistors, which means more raw power. Snapdragon looks for more price-power efficiency by reducing size of cores and increasing no of cores which give it higher multicore power, while apple does by using more powerful core but using less cores.

So apps usually games which run on single thread will perform better on a10 compared to snapdrogon 835. It does lack in gpu and multicore but u have to remember snap 835 has 4 extra cores and is a generation ahead of a10, and 835 should be compared to a11 when it'll be released. So until the app is made such that it runs on multiple cores a10 will perform better.

You know you can't run any app or game or load a page without a CPU right? Behind the scene, CPU is responsible for activities such as IO, HTML building and rendering, graphics, loops, math calculations, etc. Loading a single page is doing more tasks than what the w*rthless GB is doing so NO A10 is not even 10% better in performance.
