Had to go back to android though. WP7 too primitive right now just like when Android was too primitive for me when It started. Has IOS really changed since its release? I mean besides its version of multitasking.

Once a cheaper version is launched, it was surprising that all walkman and creative zen loversbought nothing but nano lol!!!

Something tells me if you look at the cell phone OS market share only you'll see Android has the lead in a huge margin.

with apples ios being out on the market on phones for 5 or 6 years now its bound to have more devices activated, but android is being activated in far greater number in comparison on a daily basis and as so these figures will be entirely different withing a year.

Experts predict ios to fall back to third place and good riddance,it hasn't changed much in 6 years but has changed many bank account outlays

People seem to be forgetting that this is restricted to the US market.

Anyway, I posted the following a while back in another thread. Data might be a whee bit outdated now that Android has announced hitting 350k activations/day, but I think the general point is there.

Assuming the rate of Android activation increases linearly, averaging the number of devices activated per day (300k as of Dec'10), we arrive at about 120m Android devices sold as of Dec'10 (150k x 30 days x 26 months since Oct'08). iOS took almost 1.5x longer (120m announced in Sept'10, 38 months from the release of the iPhone, Jun'07).

Using the current average number of devices activated per day for Android (300k), we can extrapolate that the total number of Android devices sold to date would be ~160m, which is a little less than the total number of iOS devices sold to date (Given the 160m figure in Jan'11, I'll estimate it at ~190m). Considering that iOS had a 16-month headstart, I'd say Android is doing pretty damned well.

This chart is about to change dramastically, android after all is a relatively new os and much more android devices are being activated daily in comparison to apples ios. Ios therefore with 5 years head start and so many of ios device still active even from the first generation iphone is bound to have the lead but this lead is not gonna last long

Sorry Guyz but one thing is admirable from Apple is this numbers in just one company...

Android has Motorola, HTC, Samsung, LG, Huawei and some others using Android, from 1.5 to 2.3, and Applo is JUST Apple, that's the kind of company that knows how to sell their products, and make it a hit without need any other to get that crown..

That hurts, but is real, Apple knows their game, and Android need a million of others companies to get fulll, I might what happen if Android only get the HTC or Motorola or Samsung to run...any no any other brand...They will get the same numbers???

I have a Moto Droid X and I'm impressed with X's benchmark and too much power a my hand, but I also miss my Apple 3GS, that one don't even have the half power of Droid X, BUT still fun to use....

And sorry but the Android Market sucks against Apple store, no to mention OVI that is really in pampers...
