8 gb ram is so unesscessary.....instead they should ve given it more battery capacity,.....atleast an 4000 mah cell....!!! this along with the pricing looks like a deal breaker to me....might be good to wait for the nokia 8 or 9...what ever it is called...!!!

While a higher resolution than 1080p may make a difference to some extent on displays 5.5" and larger, it still today won't be worth the impact on battery life. We can see it clearly with the Galaxy S7 and maybe even the S8 though I'm not yet sure about the latter, I have yet to use it myself.
As for the RAM, true, a well optimized OS won't need as much RAM, and yet, no Android device today (even with as much as 6gb! See Galaxy S8 Chinese edition) including the OnePlus 3, has managed to find a sweet spot.

And yes, you can go below once you realize that you rarely hold the phone closer than 8 inches.
In fact most Galaxy S users are already below and don't even realize it because such a tiny difference is it in visual quality that many QHD phones default to FHD these days...

I would prefer lower price than useless extra 2 Gb of ram. I was waiting for OP5 but more leaks I see more upset I become. People who need phone with SD835 with more compact size can get 5 "Xiaomi Mi6 for aroud 499. But unfortunately this is a dogle phone (no 3.5 mm).
