A Note 4 user, 26 Jun 2017The same like on Note 4: change DPI for more content to fit... more1. FHD makes more sense on a 5.5" diagonal as it goes above 400 ppi , we can't see individual pixels above 300 and you're asking for 500 ppi with QHD.
2. Less pixels means less stress on your GPU and better battery life with new generation chipset in tow.
3. I don't want a small , high-res display that can make more content fit same screen size so that I'm constantly zooming in and out of web pages and also clicking wrong web links by mistake in the process. If you want , implement 4K on 6" (Oppo) or 6.44" (Xperia Z Ultra) screen devices

I have entire series that I wat... moreEven I tried watching movies , also waited 6 hours just for checking quality after completing their conversion (needed full trial runs for file sizes) , but then I realized they were too big for my 32 or 64 GB card. I never said that your use case is non-existent. Very few like us really. Having all your data on smartphone is a HUGE convenience like you said. But smartphones still aren't as spacious as laptops , desktops can still hold even more TBs of data.

Why west is portraying Oneplus as small brand/underdog/startup all that BS. When clearly they are one of the biggest brand with Oppo as its big daddy. Why no one mentions about the real underdog Xiaomi which pulled off Mi mix and now Samsungs, Apples started coping it.

I think underground OnePlus is the oppo company flagship.
Why since oneplus apear OPPO have no flagships but only midrange or lowcost phones like R-series..
This is then new way to succes they invented it

Two things that's keeping me away from purchasing OnePlus 5 is :
1. Lack of dual stereo speakers
[I still like the stereo speaker design and placement of OPO and OPT
2. Non-appealing design [
I still like the design of OPO and OPT
OnePlus are you listening..... Dual Speaker is a MUST for me.

I think I agree with most of you.... I did go to the launch event, in NYC prepared to buy. But I wasn't so sure about the camera and the charging thing had me puzzled. If I dnt have the dash charger, it charges very slow? But most of all I kept thinking that for a few dollars more I can get all the great things it's missing like wireless charging, better camera, better screen, etc... But fit a few dollars less the axon 7 sends to hold my interest. It's like 370 now. So I have hens off. Awaiting news on the axon 8 to either knock the price down on the axon 7 or come out with a better camera

I'm tired of all this "we listen to our users" bs.
Users wanted more battery life and they also wanted to match the hype that OnePlus generated in terms of camera performance
What did they got in return?
A thinner smartphone with smaller battery (so theb battery life ends up being the same) & just slightly better camera with bokeh gimmicks

Peter: the same cash as the Oneplus 5? I'm sorry, but there is a big difference between $479 and $700. Just saying. The quality you're getting from oneplus far surpasses its rivals in that price point, biting at the heels of huawei.

Why? Commodity. Having them on the phone means I have the mobility to go to the kitchen, have a snak, then go in bed and stay comfortable in any position I want, while still watching it.
To be honest, ever since I got this Sony phone I rarely turn on the PC. As for the smart TV, it's gathering dust :))
People have different tastes and needs. Just deal with it.
As for the OP5, it sux cos it lacks waterproofing, SD card slot and the price is huge.

Much better battery:
while with htc 10 some days with heavy use i was worried about not having enought juice, with u11, i never ever had that problem. it is a beast on battery.
Better camera:
focus is 10x better, photo/video quality is also much better. (htc 10 is already great, but you notice the quality bump)
Faster:
You will notice, in day to day use how quick and snappy htc u11 is vs htc 10.
4 mics always on:
it's fantastic for ok google, recording videos (360º), and alexa when it comes.
Sound Quality:
Sound quality is a huge steep from htc 10, which i thought was already good.
Screen Quality:
Much, much better. if you compare it side by side, it's like watching a 100$ phone vs 800$.
edge sense i'm using it every day.
the design of htc u11 is very beautifull. in real life 10x better than any picture out there.
really you can't go wrong with htc u11. but then again i think you can't go wrong with any flagship from this year.

OP just put high end specs inside and their innovation ends here. Samsung Galaxy S5 neo, moto x play and even Nextbit Robin are getting Nougat but OP2 left behind? Unacceptable. They don't even spend anything on design as well. Just copy and paste. Including the camera software interface. Everything aside, at least keep updating your phone if the hardware is capable.

Using Full HD vs QHD screen on this device (as well as very small 5.5 inch screen) is beyond my understanding.

I'm currently on the fence on whether to buy this phone or not, I have the HTC 10 at the moment and it's still a beast of a device but I've never had a 1+ before and this was shaping up to be the one to get, but in all fairness i've heard some crap said about it and it's put me right off.
Enough to debate just keeping hold of the 10, which is a shame if a company can't make realistic promises.
Also this year alone is the year of the bezelless display, anyone who hasn't caught up with that is going to be left behind, not only that but they'll be looked upon as a company who doesn't hit the nail on the head when they should, HTC (as much as I love them) have done exactly the same thing, the 11 is a good phone but it's far from great, otherwise it'd be a no brainer for me to just get that instead, shame.
Maybe the 1+6 will actually give us what we should have had this time around.

Do a detailed comparison between MI6 and OnePlus5.
On User Interface particularly.
Hardware are somewhat a same...Few things here and there.
But UI is main for experiencing the hardware.

I think GSMArena editors are needlessly bashing the OnePlus 5. I find the views of Victor and Peter the most sensible.
1. What will you do with a Quad HD screen or 4K resolution when there's simply not much of a content being provided at that resolution and literally next to no market for that kind of content. I mean , would you store even a 1080p movie or TV series on your phone ? No. Then why press on Quad HD and 4K video recording ? I still use 720p movies and record videos in that resolution because they take up less space , aren't so bad in quality and are the most compatible resolution to play across devices. i wouldn't mind going even lower if I don't have GBs.
2. NFC has been added but at least in India I don't see many people making mayments with it. The cards are good enough.
3. Crazy stuff as Peter pointed out , like bezel-less displays - well they're breaking and cracking by the minute with every drop thanks to Samsung's idea of Edge displays - are unimportant for me.
4. Nokia Android flagship - Yes , that's a point of concern and the single biggest reason I am waiting for an upgrade to my 4 year old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Exynos model.
Not to mention Android OS version updates are getting just as incremental as Apple's iOS or iPhones.
5. What's the point of an Always on display that keeps sucking battery endurance ? It's just a push-of-a-button away.
6. Waterproofing - My Galaxy Note 3 has been deliberately put under the tap for cleaning the display a number of times but it has not affected my device's working. Not One Bit. And waterproofing isn't gonna help anyone achieve some great underwater shots of whales and oysters. If you're into scuba-diving , it's not gonna help.
7. Camera and audio - I agree to what Peter and Ivan said on this point. OP5 should have at least got stereo speakers.
Even I was a camera and music junkie when I went out to buy the Galaxy Note 3 but in the end even I realized that things like RAM , storage and battery capacity are far more important as it was them I would have to deal with on a daily basis.
So technically OnePlus has delivered another phone focusing on the really important core specs: processor , RAM , internal memory for storage battery (little bit less than the former but still cool). Then comes the dual camera. My only gripe is the price for the 8GB , 128 GB model. Should have been close to 35,000 INR.
