it is unibody as the hole body is the back that u can remove, the rest of the body is the screen and the stuff that makes the phone great.

Geee wtf guy this clearly IS unibody design in HTC terms anyway...anything crafted from a single piece of metal or whatever is unibody so dont go all crazy debating this as its plain silly.

For God sakes the marketing guys clearly just wanted to send the message that in their term the exterior of the phone or whatever that covers the phone if its from a single piece of metal its a unibody design.

Anyways having using this phone for a week now and its superb.Good scores on sound quality through headphones, camera performs as advertised. So if you want to nitpick just dont go all out and condemn this awesome phone ok.

unibody means that you CANNOT remove whole body - just like in Desire HD - you can remove only small plates from back......

I can't see the problem. We may change the battery by ourselfes, hurray! I hate the thing about ipods and ipads that they're not openable, and I love the HTC solution-front cover, back cover, with no battery cover. Genious!

                    the aluminium part is unibody!

the display is very good, resolution is very good. the size of the phone is perfect for me. ( for me htc hd is big for single hand use and desire has small display)
sound quality is perfect (loud and without cracks)
people can hear me loud and clear as well
with heavy use the battery can last a full day but i guess with normal use should easily take you 2 days
                    browser is fast
                    fast good quality camera

Unibody means you can't fit a bigger battery do not neccessarilly a good thing. Look at the desire HD. Stuck with a ludicrously small battery, the only feature which ruins an otherwise great phone.

LMFAO do you know how old news this is? We've known the whole back comes off for months now! It might not technically be a unibody design, but it's still very high quality.

It is unibody. But the body is removable from the unit as its cover. All previous unibody designs have made sure that the unibody aluminum is part of the unremovable area. They flipped that and you now basically remove the LCD and innards from the unibody to open it.

                                  Still unibody though.

Sorry guys, but as a retailer - and having sold a few of the handsets - the HTC Sensation DOES INDEED have a removeable back, not the unibody design of the Desire S/HD/Mozart 7

It is a unibody device. I have seen it at the launch and has it in my hands for two weeks. The picture on Slashgear is clear to see - the Sensation has a unibody design.
