It looks good and it allows Samsung to claim larger screen size, but the curved part of the screen is useless and Samsungs palm rejection has improved, but it's still not great.
The S8 a good phone, but the iPhone X is in a different category.

The iPhone X is just a little more expensive than the Note 8, but it offers a significantly better camera and working face recognition unlock, among other improvements.
You don't have to like it or buy it, but don't insult people who appreciate and are willing to pay for these things.

AnonD-234961, 26 Sep 2017I hever said the iPhone X is bezel-less, but it is the most... moreagain.. completely untrue.. look at the body to screen ratio of both it and the S8/S8+ on gsmarena.. the S8 has a higher screen to body ratio.. and is also much bigger screen compared to what the width of the phone is.. both because of 18.5x9 AND the curved screen going to the VERY edge. unlike iPhone X! those little horrible parts of screen at each side of the big sensor area on the iPhone X are not only really ugly.. they are basically useless as proper screen area save for a few things like battery and coverage indicators.. it's basically a big bezel at the top.. trying to fool you into thinking it's top to bottom screen.. and it looks really ugly.

So, we can expect Apple to make $25-30 billions profit in the last quarter from iPhone X alone even if we discount the margin as 50%? Good time to buy Apple stocks than iPhone X! Rich people do that !!

Brand name should be Super iphone XI;
Supa Smiley would use facial and body recognition and they could dance in 3D, it may look like a gimmick, the possibilities are endless!
it would be nice if the casing could look like a Animated poop emoji 3d effect background casing, how cool is that.

The thing that perplex me is how well will the carrier contract subsidies lull users into upgrading into the iPhone X. I haven't look at the numbers but is probably going to be ~10-15bucks more per month. This nickel and diming really does add up over the term of the contract. Are consumers getting duped into upgrading when they have no reason to when they're up for a contract renewal? Just like Mickey Ds trying to get you to supersize, this up selling trick does work wonders.

The new-design upgrades were always only slight improvements and had quite a lot of new features which weren't quite fleshed-out yet. The S-models fixed the issues of the previous model, and allowed the App Store to catch up in making the optimisations for the new screen/processor/camera features.
Here's a trip down memory lane:
- First iPhone, barely a smartphone, not worth it
- iPhone 3G, finally a smartphone but needed a lot of updates
- iPhone 3GS, much improved OS, ecosystem, battery, processor and camera
- iPhone 4, equal to the 3GS with only a bump in screen resolution, new design, camera improved but not the best
- iPhone 4S, derp-Siri, dual-core made it quite a bit more faster AND efficient, camera was finally among the best in the flagships
- iPhone 5, new aspect ratio, a lot of bugs/unsupported Apps, some improvements all-round
- iPhone 5S, new OS design, 64-bit processor, longer-term support.
- iPhone 6, basically same as 5S just larger, more expensive.
- iPhone 6S, faster, better camera, better aluminium, 3D touch = long support.
- iPhone 7, slightly improved, Waterproof, no headphone jack, more expensive
- iPhone 7S/8, better camera, faster = long support. Wireless charging. Fragile back.
I think if you have an iPhone 6S Plus (128GB)... don't upgrade, tis a great phone!
Or if you really mus have a faster processor, better camera, fast charging: not worth it.
But it would be worth it for the Waterproofing.
Thus, if you have a 6S Plus and you "must" upgrade, then don't Side-Grade to the 7 or 8 models... you should upgrade to the iPhone X. However, note that its way overpriced and quite a rip-off.

top cutout can be either fine or disliked.
but the phone IS bezelless bcuz it has less bezels than previous iphones and that's what the word bzelless means.

it wasn't trying to authenticate others around. it didn't work for the presenter bcuz it was set up to work on the persons face who prepared the keynote and had it powered off and then switched device on when presentation started. every iphone with touch id, when first powered on, it asks for pincode to enable touch id.
same thing happened. presenter hadn't realised phone was powered on and needed pincode entered to enable face id. he raised the phone for face id but it didn't work bcuz he had to enable it first. if u look at the screen in the video u can acrtually see the message displayed on the screen to enter pincode to enable face id.
the real fact of this incident only proves how secure the iphone is. it refused to scan his face unless he enabled it first by entering pincode. but trolls will ignore facts feel sorry for their sadness
