There’s an obvious gap between the Note5 and the Note8.

r33fd, 25 Aug 2018Imo the note 4 is the best note ever created. The leather ... morecould not agree more with this. maybe samsung can make revival of the note4 series but with newer chipset. i don't even care about plastic body or newer gorilla glass or glass back shit when it have an user removable battery.

maybe samsung concerned about people with PTSD when the (other say ILL FATED) samsung galaxy note7 they own explode. or the curse of the number 6, you know 666 meaning. or they just don't want the embarassing and hurting moment when all the world make a news/meme about it.

They ignore NOTE FE FAN EDITION ???
It was superior to Note 5.
If they ignore their own phones, then i shouldnt buy NOTE FE as well.

Kingslayer, 24 Aug 2018Android Authority mentioned it first on Twitter. It seems b... moreEMMC failure was also spotted on early Note 2 units as well. They had a sudden phone death problem which occurs any time it wants, rendering the phone to be unusable (turns on, on boot logo, restart over and over again). If you're lucky, they will last up to 5 years. The later Note 2 units do not have this problem and usually will last longer than 5 years.

"The Note 5 was also the first Note to get rid of the IR Blaster that was present on the Galaxy Note4 and Note3. It was also the first Note to get rid of the microsd slot that was present up to Note 4 / Note Edge at that time. The microsd slot would later be brought back on the now-discontinued Note 7 and later iterations due to user complaints of limited storage. It was also the first Note to get rid of removable battery that was present up to Note 4 / Note Edge."

There, editor, fixed it for you.

Imo the note 4 is the best note ever created.
The leather like plastic with metal frame felt great in the hand and was stronger than today glass, And you could simply replace its back or battery.
I also liked some nice additions like Ir blaster that unfortunately it's gone now.
That was a true hardcore users phone!

Newer notes have better internals of course, but from a design point of view I like the note 4 the most.

                I used note 3 and note 5.now i have note 8.note 8 is really a beast.now i shall upgrade to note 10

Ariel Ignacio, 24 Aug 2018I bought the first one while having an S II. All I can reme... moreU shouldn't be afraid of suvh pity things

Had the Note 3 and then the Note 4 and now the Note 8.. I must say the Note 4 was one of it's kind.. Gsmarena has also referred to it as, 'The legendary Note', this was the last one with an ir blaster too.. Apart from the sealed battery and the ir blaster the current Note series is quite a beast.. Only reason I skipped the 5 was the lack of the sd card slot.. The current UI is also well optimised.. The Nova launcher works amazingly for me.

                      I had note 1
Then note 2 very powerful phone in apps and battery never hit up.
Now i own black note edge for 3.year now rooted modified and imporrted few functionalities from note5 and is gorrgeous like new and i wouldn't change for note5, note7,note8 or note9 at all.

Note7 is the true start of the Note series as the most upgraded-features over the predecessor. Samsung shouldn't skip the Note7 or they could appear any apology instead.

NichtsGemacht, 25 Aug 2018I'd rather say not too intelligent... Meh, the line between stupidity and bravery is quite thin, speaking from experience.

Note FE was not mentioned. Note7 was excellent, but the whole ifyness of the battery was worrisome. Currently using the Note8, but Note9's 20% battery increase is not enough to upgrade for a whopping $999

They should have included it. I used it for just a month but it was amazing in every way. Battery life was much better than my note4, the s pen was flawless, performance was a beast, and the camera during its time was sensational.

Trying to hide it doesn't help

Devices owned: I've owned a Galaxy Note 2, the big screen and camera were very useful at the time where flagships were only at 4.3 inches (Samsung S2) plus the screen was gorgeous. I've tried a Note 3 for a brief while and while the faux leather was awesome, it looked "fake" lol but the 13MP camera was good though. My current device was the Note 4 and was the best device I had in terms of productivity and creative work. The marshmallow update on my Note 4 makes my device up to date with 2018 mid-rangers with ease.

Note devices considered: I've always admired the Note 7 because of the design and features like the iris scanner. However the battery fiasco it had was a bummer. Fast foward, when it was re-released as a Note Fan Edition I was greatly considering it but it had lots of manufacturing issues from users online so I skipped it too. Currently the Note 9 is my possible upgrade depending on much is the discount after a year.
