Now one thing all brands has to mind that they have to improve them battery life otherwise customer will select the best battery phone as new OS needs more power to perform,,,, all brands have to maintain hardware and software ,,,, they cannot fool the buyer as all specs in detailed are available here on gsmarena,,,,

I love my WP7 (HTC Mozart). Dont know what to ask more from it other than FLASH or Silverlight. It is a business phone for sure, much better and easier than other OS.

No one wants to be outdated when they pay some decent money for their handests.

Kindle is irrevant. We are talking about smartphoens. See the top sellers. GS2, HTC phones and even iphone4s prove that specs is the most important for the decision making.

yes the specs isn't always equal to performance, but again the performance is 90% based on specs. See who is the head of benchmarkts. GS2, HTC Sensation and ect...

and that's another reason why Nokia lost its market faster than brands. Lumia 800 is an example of that.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2011The problem is that WP isn't exclusive to Nokia. Since ... moreNokia is instrumental because of its partnership with Microsoft, who have a vested interest in it succeeding. The other manufacturers are more cautious and will only dive in if they see potential. That's what I meant by my observation. If Nokia do not succeed, then it's going to be harder for WP7 to succeed.

As for tech specs, this is an outdated view which the industry is beginning to realise. Millions upon millions of customers are out there and they choose smartphones for a myriad of reasons apart from tech specs. Also, tech specs does not equal performance. Kindle Fire vs Nook is enough to disprove that myth.

Since Samsung Focus series and HTC Titan are indeed better than Lumia in terms of specs, i doubt the mojority of the people chooes Lumia over Fucus and Titan.

Abandoning Symbain was the worst decision made by Nokia.

As someone who sees market trends shifting every 6 months or so i would love to place a bet with all nokia and wp7 fanboys.I know you guys are protective over your brands but id love to make a bet and say that the impact wp7 will have next year will be tiny.Android and ios will continue to dominate as android has the choice and customisation of software and a massive choice of handsets and apple has the excellent smooth reliable operating system..Lets see if your eating your words this time next year i hate to say it but i think you will be.

android will dominate whole market you know why?because even in country like ours Iran, we have a android smartphone, glx g1 running gingerbread android .so popularity of android is something unique although i have a wp7 handset and i love this operating system but most people want open source operating system.

WP is far from the most interesting platform, in both software and hardware terms. Every WP phone that is released looks almost exactly the same, running identical software, so how is that interesting? It's not a bad platform at all, far from it, but I think the complete lack of any innovation is starving it of it's potential market share. The Nokia Lumia is the exception looks wise - beautifully made, but still ultimately dull, plus it's main selling point - it's compact dimensions could be it's achilles heel. If people want a well made, small screened smart phone that they can't really customise, then why would they buy anything other than an iPhone?

WP losing not only market share but absolute numbers - THAT is really, really worrying for Nokia and for Elop. Betting all your resources on only one horse is a big risk, even more so as the software that was going to give Nokia the edge, such as Nokia Drive, was hacked about a week after it was out and can now be (illegally) enjoyed by any WP7 user. According to speculation WP and Windows will share the same NT platform in the next gen, or the one after that. That might help them a little bit.

The overall winner here is Microsoft, raking in cash from Android sales and partnering with Nokia for a planned high volume WP7/8 market saturation in mid 2012 to get a double win win situation. Wonder if it will succeed completely?

Cheers im not saying its a bad phone because i was very surprised iys actuallt a nice piece of kit buylt the software reminds me of ios.You cant customise anything on it.I use all different software os everyday at work and this would maybe be my second choice with ios and blackberry last. Its just so lifeless and uninviting as software goes.Windows belongs on a pc full stop.I feel these stats will change next year when wp7 flops and nokia end up in severe financial trouble. If they had gone andtoid then i for one would of bought the lumia but nope its just going to sit on our shelves in our store and end up like the n900 a collectors piece.
