            what is this?
SE sold 9.5 million phones, not 8.5 million.
And more than 7 million smartphones, which puts them on fifth place in that regard, behind Samsung, Apple, Nokia and HTC.

iOS is still the best. Android is nice for customisation, but its support is still no match for the one given to the iphone. Two versions of Angry Birds is still in the Android Market Top 10 for gods sake!
Android needs to give more incentives to developers.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2011Ouch! Microsoft... you really have to lift your game. Hopef... moreI really hope WP7 rises to be a good OS (and people get that OS for good) I don't know, the WP7 is very stable and good, easy to use and for the non geek user. However I don't have many options in CDMA, and for GSM I only trust in Motorola and Apple (Somewhat Samsung for not that much) SO, if they launch more CDMA devices maybe I will do a try for future devices if not I will stick with iOS (4S) and Android (Motorola)...

                  WoW Is amazing...

Android has proved it self be a great OS, some problems around but nothing I can't live with....

I like iOS but Android is more customizable, more adapative to people needs....

I sell my E7 in order to gen an Droid RAZR, I believe Android will keep the heat for a while, let's see....

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2011Ouch! Microsoft... you really have to lift your game. Hopef... moreCorrection not loads of people read specs. most people dont enter a blog or read a tech magazine unless they are interested in that stuff.
case it point would be iphone 4 and then although we have a dual core in the iphone 4s most people couldnt care less all people talk about is Siri.

Android is every where on every price point and you can get a Android handset for £39 so its really cheap and if you are Htc that is 1 a week Samsung make 4 versions of the same phone. i know alot of people who have a dual core phone Android phone and dont even know it.

I am not WP7 user but i dont want them to get dual core if somehow it effects the performance of the phone. One of the problems with WP7 is that most of their phones are just black slabs and some of them are just plain ugly. That will change i think with Nokia.

Really i just which Android people would stop going on about dual core at this moment in time Android has done nothing with it. its like have a formula 1 car and driving like its a mini

Did everyone miss that this is still covering Q3, which is before the Nokia Lumia launch, as well as the iPhone 4S launch? It is just reiterating what we already know from the previous reports, except from another analyst firm.

                        Illiteracy ftw!

Ouch! Microsoft... you really have to lift your game. Hopefully Nokia will help your cause. They better bring out that Apollo update soon or else you can say bye bye to a lot of potential buyers. A lot of people are happy about the Nokia Lumia 800 but a lot also realise that Windows Phone devices are falling behind hardware-wise. Yes, you may not need dual core and yes, it may not be necessary to have higher screen resolutions but I know that MANY people read the specs first and immediately decide whether it is worthy or not and if not, they tend to discard the whole OS. Windows Phone has potential and when you really think about it, it is very simple and doesn't have much customisation but does customisation make an OS? Long time Android user here but I'm up for a change when my contract runs out; not getting an iPhone for sure because I just don't like it. Windows Phone better show us something good. Windows Phone 7... 7.5... and then there's 8. A whole step means there had better be some standout features that either matches others or is completely new and innovative. I can think of many things they can do to improve it while sticking with Metro UI and the tiles. In situations like these, I wish I was on the team to put forth ideas so that the majority will have a positive view of Windows Phone.

[deleted post]Great example of stereotypical fandroid, always so rude people, i only said MY opinion, yes i think those tiles looks good and the whole Ui look very nice and simple, actually android and symbian is ugliest OS out there, that just my opinion, try to respect that! I think the wp7 is most interesting thing in mobile world.

Personally I find android really easy to use and looks nice. Live wallpapers are great and able to download anything I want for free. Android and Samsung. Unstoppable =D

Android market share grow because everyone can use it, also android fast grow comes mostly from cheap almost free android phones.

I'm surprised about wp7, i tested it at weekend and it felt great, much more interesting than boring android. I dont understand why people dont buy those, i think after Nokia people will understand how cool wp7 really is, it really was, i got WOW feeling after many years in mobile world.
