LOL@people saying the same thing that Meego is dead over and over again. The Nokia N9 is more of a Qt phone than a Meego phone just like Symbian Belle. Look at the screenshots, the UI elements are very similar to Symbian Belle. Meego is only the base OS where the N9's core platform, Qt, is installed. The N9's UI structure and all its apps are based and built on Qt, not on Meego. So stop this Meego is dead nonsense.

I was sooo into this device until Nokia ditched it. Now I'm all for Samsung and Intel. GO TIZEN! The Evolved HTML5 Meego! Can't wait for Q1 2012! That Tizen SDK will be MINE!

remember how simbyan was all cool and stuff and then overnight it was dead and canceled. meego is the same. i dont know one single person that knows one other person that knows anyone who owns a meego. get real with htese cartoon like OSes. jjust like webos..webos who ? just my point. also the title says ''lots of improve..aah..bug fixes''.

still didn't get PR1.1 (T-Mobile Hungary) even, and don't want to flash. People at Nokia Hungary couldn't even tell me in their reply email when it may come. Any ideas?

Keep it up! The N9 may be a "concept car" after the 02/11 announcement, but the concept is amazing, and it's nice to see that Nokia is still supporting the N9.
The only thing I don't get is why the need to bet the company on Windows Phone when the N9 proves without a doubt that Nokia has (or had) the development chops to build their own platform in house. They could have easily supported TWO smartphone platforms just like many big companies. They could have done a few WP devices and Supported MeeGo and S40 with Qt keeping a portfolio of low to high end devices using the same development tools and having the same storefront. I don't disagree with the spinning off of Symbian. As great as it is, there is no need for it with MeeGo which runs just fine on relatively low end hardware.
Nokia won't save WP. Microsoft will do that themselves with Windows 8 and XBOX dashboard by shoving metro down everyone's throats whether they want it or not.
Nokia could have stood out in a sea of sameness with the beautiful Swipe UI, instead they will be another anonymous OEM trying to differentiate in a big tiled room.

I dont think the world will EVER forgive Nokia for ditching Meego. WP7 is AWESOME, but Meego is something completely in a league of its own.
