You guys are too ignorant... Do you know how old Android 2.3 Gingerbread is? It's almost 2yrs old... You should be happy that Nokia releases major updates to S^3 phones every 6months & they also release minor upgrades almost every month... Symbian Belle is on par with ICS, iOS5 & WP7, and it needs much optimization to run on S^3 phones cuz they have an old GPU, CPU & R.A.M... So Nokia won't just push out a half-baked update to please just a few people... 5800 & N97 also get minor updates too, so I don't understand the lies that most of u are telling here... Android only rocks on High-End hardware, don't be fooled into buying a low/mid-range Android phone, cuz u'll regret it... The new Symbian Belle phones are very powerful, with no single lag, even reviewers applaud them. Don't come here & say rubbish becuz u have an internet connection... No one cares if you're leaving Nokia for Samsung or Apple...

Works for me. People need to just relax, a month or two won't kill you.

I appreciate Nokia's support of my devices.

To all people posting about the Nokia 5800 and versions of it. Symbian Belle will be available only to Symbian^3 devices like C6-01, C7, N8, E7, X7. Nokia 5800 is an S60v5 device AND IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SYMBIAN^3!So get rid of your cr@ppy handsets or stick them in a drawer or something and go buy a newer model!!!Peace off!

Nokia is no more as Trusted Brand.
They delayed belle update just to promote Windows Os.

I've used Nokia phones for over 10 years, since Nokia black and white screen up to Nokia N8, but I'm sure Nokia N8 is last Nokia phone I use in my life.
Symbian has lost its own population to Android and iOS. Instead of pulling out all the stops to compete with those two by working hard and quick to update symbian, what have they done? I've spent time to work with Window Phone and let all fans waiting Soooooooooooooooo...Long for Symbian update. Have they already admitted that Window phone is better than Symbian? It looks to me like they don't even have enough confidence that they can make symbian a better OS than iOS, androit and even Window Phone. I myself and a lot of my friends in my country is now saying GOOD BYE FOR EVER to NOKIA...

M really disappointed with Nokia for delaying the launch of Belle but at the same time I hope they are delaying it so that once the update is available there would not be any bugs or problems....maybe thts the reason they are delaying it...waiting for "EARLY 2012" and God knows what according to nokia it actually means....wanna upgrade my N8 to belle but m not taking the risk of doing it thru unofficial belle.....Rathet wait for the Official release...I luv my N8.....its just awsm in every sense

Early 2012... hahhaha ... lets see it will be early 2013... as nokia has never fulfilled its promises. And btw what will be the update ... just a new theme and icons ... you can't expect more from nokia now... as i was a fan of it but not any more... still ive got n8 and andriod galaxy s2.... but i only use gx2... for n8 is just a secondary number...

abc.to.xyz, 10 Dec 2011and what about my s60v5 based C6-00? No updates? Could have... moreYou get few updates and a not so good user experience because you cheaped out when you went phone shopping.
You get what you pay for and don't pretend that you'd get better value for money elsewhere.
You seem to miss the fact that it was always Nokia's plan to relegate Symbian to low end devices, because its old and out dated.
This is why they'd been working on Maemo (now Meego) for the last 5 years or so.
The only thing that had changed is they're ditching Maemo/Meego because Microsoft paid them to use Windows Phone instead.
They did slay the golden goose but that has nothing to do with Symbian.
