tarrak, 05 Jan 2012do not lie please. i have a note too for a month. it bare... moreMine lasts a whole 18 hours of moderate use with 15% to spare - 10 minutes of calling, 20 text messages, 2 hours of games, 1 hour of sketching, 1 hour of browsing, 1.5 hours of video play and 2 hours of music.

I use the app, Juice Defender Ultimate to that saves on the battery by turning off the radios while on standby. I noticed that with continuous sketching with the Sketchbook Mobile app with music on would make it last about 3.5 hours from a full charge. This is where I see myself using the Note most heavy, other than downloading HD movie torrents.

How many hours were you expecting the full charge to last? Is this your meaning of the battery sucking?

You can have a spare battery handy, unlike the iPhone whet you can't change the battery at all. Yes, you can change the battery in the Note. Since I got such an expensive unit, might as well get some of the things I really need with it. I have the drained battery charged in my bag with the portable charger connected to a portable power bank and I keep my Note practically wireless all the time. I find the iPhone impractical with less features that I need like screen size, direct file transferring, and FM radio, even though it has better battery stamina.

Oneiric, 03 Jan 2012Erm... did you purposely ignore the video playback specs? ... moredo not lie please.
i have a note too for a month.
it barely finishes a single working day...
even i do not use wi fi all the time.

but anyway it is a perfect phone if you are looking for a device to read your pdf documents and taking notes without a tablet. which was my initial problem...

reading ebook was not so bad at iphone but pdf???
    it was disaster.
note is perfect device for such things.

    but battery life sucksss anyway...

I've had the Note since mid Nov. I get almost 2 days charge from it with 4-5 hours of playing games and 2-3 hours of calling. Are you seriously going to try to put down the battery? On this gorgeous phone that too?

Trent, 29 Dec 2011A Samsung Galaxy Note! Jeeeez.. why would anybody buy a Sam... moreI looking to replace windows together... I prefer a windows-less live. I dislike M$ very much a proven Monopolist, don't believe me take a look at how they price their xbox360 gears and accessories.

I have a harddisk-less xbox360 because i think they are ripping people off with its pricing $200 for a 320G hdd is too much. Lucky they allow a 16G usb thumb drive otherwise i would have skip the console altogether.

I moved from Samsung Galaxy S2 to the Note - what a beauty. I truly enjoy this phone. The S2 moved to my wife. 1st call on Note felt odd, but got used to it very quickly. Covered the Note in a pouch where the leather front cover integrates into back plate. Taking calls (or making) is great with the leather covering the screen.
Sound quality excellent, screen excellent, features excellent - well done Samsung!

I bought this mobile not having a Sumsung or Android mobile before. Apart from the camera and screen it is nothing special but a lot of fun. It is more of an emmotional buy than for practical purposes. It does not replace a PC, but costs the same, and I did not find anything special with the Android operating system. I did buy it for the video which is good but otherwise it is nothing to get excited about.

Scoop, 30 Dec 2011Straight from the horses mouth. GSMARENA TEST The Note ma... morewell, that's a personal opinion. the midget iphone screen save the battery juice. nonetheless, the samsung galaxy notes sales number proved you wrong. your arguement is invalid.

Scoop, 30 Dec 2011Straight from the horses mouth. GSMARENA TEST The Note ma... moreDifferent needs and preference for different people. The Note has a larger screen for but it still fits the pocket. I need the area for digital sketching and painting with its capacitive accurate Wacom S pen. It gave me freedom to be able to design and work anywhere. True, its clocking 3.5 hours of internet browsing, but it can also play 9.5 hours continuous HD videos on its Super AMOLED screen on a full charge. Unlike the iPhone, you can change its battery with a fresh one. On a moderate usage, it can last up to 18 hours on one charge. Its name probably was derived from a notebook, since its very close to the dimensions of that famous small Moleskine brand that fits a top shirt pocket. The Note and a Moleskine notebook have very similar purpose which is the main idea of their invention, in my opinion - to record what we see, feel and think. And the sharing of those 3 to others with the Note in particular is powerful. The silly image of my making a call with it is the least of my worries. If you worry about it, best you stick with what you have.

Its an amazing invention from samsung, at a very cheap price,
                        But .............

I wouldn't Suggest such a huge screen For calling Purpose.. Coze its too Immobile.
                        Thus spoils The whole Purpose.

At first it seems huge but it really isn't that big.

The Note managed just 3 hours and 35 minutes of continuous browsing, which is some way off the standard set by the iPhone 4S and Nokia N9. As most of the web pages are predominantly white, the 5.3″ screen turned into a power-leeching beast that’s hard to feed.

People are captivated by the sheer size of the display & many are thinking of chucking there netbooks & Tabs away, but this will not be savvy based on the real time test conducted.
I would not want to have such a humungous screen just for calling purposes
                              Defeats the whole purpose!!!

I am disgusted, while boxed wth warrntry costs 750$ within a month european shipped on plans are sold back to asia at half the price. why does these co's track the set. Intial 100$ are paid then monthly instalment. These sets have custom roms and updated weekly with minor changes as numeric on top lane. Samsung should also ship note orig covers as otherwise without fixed back leather covers. 2.3.6 is standard need offical ics update fast. leading high end phone prsently.

I did get it over the other phones with the same price range. The 5.3" screen size and its Wacom S pen is perfect for my digital sketching. It's easier for me to take attendance of my students and grading on a spread sheet. The HD super AMOLED screen replaces my watching on my NetBook. HD games look fantastic and are enjoyable with its big screen. Reading PDF documents are easy to read. All that and other normal smart phone functions on a passport sized phone that is the Samsung Galaxy Note. Liking silly while making a call is the least of my worries over its power, quality and reliability. You do have the choice of getting a lower phone.
