Hi Guys,
Nokia will be giving updates to old Symbian phones like the n8 and this is a good news to us!! Lets learn to be patient, Nokia knows what they are doing. We might not get the FP1 due to hardware limitations but we will get what our phones deserved. They just cofirmed that we will still have updates for Belle.

The Belle feature pack 1 will indeed be made available for Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701. Although Nokia is gathering feedback about the Belle release, expect more changes and fixes soon for 1st generation Symbian 3 devices. Stay tuned!

Symbian sucks big time, no matter how much you deny, with lakhs of apps(android, ios) you will never be bored with your phone, where are with symbian, after few months u realise there is nothing more to explore and are likely to get bored....malware and privacy has been blown out of proportions....it has not reached that level yet, u need not worry unless you are the president of your country and the whole country wants to know about u....

I'm a N8 user. While I do agree that we don't need 20.000+ apps, many apps, like official facebook & twitter (there are many alternatives, but still..), adobe reader x, yahoo mail & messenger (a proper one, not that old java apps) that are genuinely missing from nokia store. There is no medscape and a proper ebook apps like aldiko, no games like plants vs zombies, cut the rope, etc. I love my N8, love my Belle (hoping for FP1, I hope at least we can get the new browser), but there is no doubt that apps support is symbian most weaknessess..

[deleted post]By naming Symbian Market had already reveal that you have Zero knowledge of Symbian, you can either call it OVI Store or Nokia Store, Ya many of those apps in Android Market are just repeating a same task, plus tons & tons of spyware & malware in those apps, infact if one refuse to let those apps reading their personal info, then there will be pathetic number of apps inside Android Market, How do i know ? i am both Adroid & Symbian user.

The N8 and all other 1st-generation Symbian^3 devices will still be updated as well, just not the full Belle FP1 update. Let's just wait what's in store for us. I just hope the 808 camera UI gets to the N8 as well as Dolby Headphone and that damn HTML5 browser.

People have more apps with iOS and Android and now Windows phone 7, don't know where Belle OS will fit in and what its future is...like Bada OS or Meego OS....buyers of this phone can never expect to have 200000+ apps at their disposal....

I smell symbian slowly rising from the dumpster and begin it's way to the top again..functionality-wise. apps are still very little for symbian.
