this is what apple should have done from the start. every time they try to sue the droid manufacturers just find a work around and apple gains nothing. im an android fan and this news is good in my opinion. the law suits will fade and we will start to see a much needed focus on actually improving handsets. yes android has taken some ios ideas however ios has also taken much from android, prime example being the pull down notifications. do this and be done with it however it has to be a fixed price. i can see apple getting greedy and this falling apart so has to be a fixed cost for use.

why stiffening innovation? if you take someone else's patent- you have to pay for it. this is actually encouraging for innovation, as the innovator knows that his hard work and high risks will not be stolen and used without a reward. people that object to it are just lazy.
