I thought that "retina" stand for a 300ppi+ screen, but it has 260-270 ppi... Impressive certainly, but a little tiny bit off a let down...
Because the bigger let down is a dual-core chipset instead of a quad-core... (if you look at it pricewize...)

Lol... another marketing gimmick
according to apple, their dual core processor combined with quad core GPU is 3 times faster than the Nvidia Tegra 3 which is a quad core CPU(actually 4 and a half core) with a massive 12 core GPU...

hi, 07 Mar 2012ipad 3 is kinda of a fail to me really the cpu and GPU will... moreactally the bump the GPU with 2 extra core just for holding the huge screen resolution togehter , overall performance? i think it will be neck-to-neck with ipad2

LOL what a dissapointment, the resolution is great but not too much compared to a 10" at 1920x1080, i mean it´s almost an unnoticeable difference between them to the human eye, everybody was waiting for the A6 quad core, everyone else is having one of those, and the graphics, ok they improved a lot, but soon everyone else will, and even better options will show, besides the screen, i don´t see any big upgrade here, this will be the year that Android tablets were waiting for, i´m not saying that they will kill the iPad, but surely they will gain some more fans.

Anon, 07 Mar 2012Great, another Apple song and dance about how their new pro... morewhat "everything product" do what is doing ipad 3 ??? there is no tablet with such resolution, such video recording, such beauty and state of the art execution, such superb and powerful output on headphones for music maniacs. i do not know how is to use ipad 3 yet, but as an ipad 2 owner, i can tell you enything else is rubbish from all the points of view. who criticize apple products,in fact can't afford one. i rest my case.

Biggest question for me is "Why do you need a screen that's smaller than a TV screen(81cm or more) but has more pixels?" I get the idea of Nokia 808 41mpx camera, you need those pixels for zooming, but iPad3 screen looks useless, it looks like MAC OS "I can open a bunch of tabs/windows, but i can't run Windows(or simply more) programs without an emu"
