hovering..seems we will protect the screen even better coz no contact with finger which have possibility to scratching the screen(fingernails)
Reminds me of the 12mp pioneer, the satio.
Sony always invent something new like 1st music-classified phone,1st 12mp camphone,1st touch focus (forgotten G900),hd recording(vivaz-pro),n now this hover above screen touching tech.
N others like samsung will ALWAYS copy sony's tech to their galaxies.

does your vocabulary has the word "HOVER"?

Just incase you don't have that word, it means moving around w/ out touching anything.

i believe that what youi did is wear cloth over your finger and TOUCHED the screen.

The benefit is you don't need to long press or another timewasting method to access some features, and it works with inconductive gloves because it still detects your finger from small distance.

ACTUALLY WHATS THE BENEFIT? It can only detect floating from just 2 mm ??? And we dont even feel the touch.

the reason it still works with the gloves on, is because its still doing its floating thing, the gloves are just acting like a physical aid in keeping your finger off the screen

floating touch is controlling touchscreen without touching the display, the first mobile to do this.
