AnonD-36731, 29 Mar 2012Serious question so don't tried to read any alterer motive ... morePretty difficult to get the numbers mate. Reasons are obvious, categorizing by o/s has to be done by a third party like gartner / neilson. they can get accurate (or near accurate) data from only specific countires /markets. Ex: Us, UK etc, one reason is those markets are operator/carrier driven.

Let me try to collate the info, US users contibute to around 6% of total mobile users worldwide, this might have increased a little bit by now.according to this report approximately 3% are smartphone users, now out of that android has 48% and iOS has 43%. In short % of android users in US alone - 1.5%
% of iOS users in US alone - 1%.

refer to the nov report of neilson for o/s wise stats.

also the list of users world wide, little old data buyt still very helpful if you wish to do some calculations

User friendly is the way to go. IOS phones tops this in all areas. Many Google phone users like myself have difficulty navigating through the menu which is deeply embedded. Lol

I am not sure if the S3s will be a direct replacement for the S2s for everyone as they look to be planned to be larger.

IMO manufacturers have become fat and lazy and are building larger devices with more features (which is very easy) rather than putting more functionality into conveniently sized devices.

I am confident iOS will regain domination if and when Apple releases iphone with a viewable screen dimension of at least 4.5". The current position is highly based on Android phones featuring that screen size. I know there is high expectation for iphone with such screen size.
