I have N9 for about 6 months and I will appose everyone who make fun of this god sent master piece, You blinded GS and Ip guys , how dare you compare this beautiful uni-body poly carbonate with your ugly GS2 or ordinary IP4?! come alive! wake up! I have 22 apps installed in my N9 and that does satisfy me,who cares about fart apps? I think N9 should won the best OS award too if any award mentioned for these OSs, Have you heard the new BlackBerry OS? the fully N9 copied version! they know more than you about this piece of jewel....try to have fun in your life not continuing others stupidity

It's not attractive and eyecatching at aalllllll!!!!
you can accept it or not. it doesn't deserve DESIGN award!!!
is it an advantage to see the icons floating??
I think U are sad to see nokia has nothing to show now!!exept foolish cameras that U can make calls with them!!!

To the previous person who commented, saying nothing 'special' was donw; are you mentally challenged? Let me list the design features:

            1) Machined from a single piece of polycarbonate (which is what ice hockey helmets are made from) to make it extremely durable, containing no metal parts for superb antenna performance
            2) Polycarbonate colour is dyed the whole way through, so scratching it will reveal the same colour
            3) Available in white, magenta, cyan and black
            4) Glass is curved to allow easier swiping (plus uses Gorilla glass)
            5) No buttons - hand gestures control the phone
            6) The OLED screen is glued on to the screen itself, with no air gap, to make icons look like they're floating under the screen
            7) The screen flows right in to the body; no gaps

I don't see that on ANY OTHER PHONE. Is that enough for you?

logically speaking these kinds of design awards(as they claim)should go to beautifully designed and attractive phones, not a thick(12.1 mm!!) and too simple one like this! what seems interesting here? I mean they haven't done anything special!!! I'm just talking about DESIGN and not other features cause I haven't used it I but can see how it looks like!! I my self prefer galaxy nexus or one x.

Happy to see N9 winning, its an fabulous phone. I have had the N9 for couple months now and it has been very reliable, robust, fast and easy to use. Not a single crash and only few minor bugs, but nothing serious. All the most apps are also there so (lack of) ecosystem is not that big deal either.

this is a one of awesome device which i ever had, fantastic design when my friend see my Nokia n9 they say "wow" nothing else, this proves its own sexy look, nokia have taken utter fooloish decision to produce lumia WP..if any body wants WP they could have buy HTC,Samsung etc..but if they want MEEGO only nokia, why Nokia could not understand this simple logic.... i have used android ,ios but i never feel user friendly as Nokia N9, simple and most valuable device...i have planned to use my N9 until its death, then if i want to buy another phone defneatly it would be a Me ego device.. nokia if you want to keep your customers happy produse meego and create competitive advantage in the market.. nokia should consider its long journy rather than short run, lumia may survive in short run due to maketing effort but not long run..

I bought my Nokia N9 5 months ago, notwithstanding all kinds of snide and sarcastic remarks and reviews. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. People say: "Nokia N9 ? Poor applications, dead operation system, blah, blah..."

All this evaporates once you begin playing with the toy. It is the simplest, sexiest and most user friendly phone. Period...

All my friends have iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S IIs. They paid a fortune to buy them. Nonsense !

I am not interested in billions of "fart-apps" or silly games !

What I need is a ligtning fast, stable, reliable, sturdy, user-friendly smartphone with all the high quality applications and social networks built in.

Moreover, Nokia N9 has a lovely "swipe" action. No other smartphone has it.

It is a pure joy to use this phone. You can easily customise it too.

All in all, I'm a satisfied customer and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Don't be distracted by what others say. Follow your heart :)

You won't regret it at all...

N9 is simply cool piece, have it for the last 3 months it is awesome. Nokia should consider adding smart dialling and the sms storage on C7 pattern i.e. one can switch between conversation view or the conventional Nokia sms inbox, outbox or drafts format. if these 2 features are added think N9 will be a Killer set

Since the N95 Nokia had struggled to keep up with the smart phone market and be at the front once again.
Well since the launch of the N9 they have had nothing but rave reviews. So what did Nokia do to ensure continued success ?
Thats right kill meego the best thing they had in years and they fu**ed it up by choosing Windows phone.
