Yani, 12 Jun 2012Ah yes, Android vs. Apple fans raging war on the interwebz.... moreWhich is why we need a new player on the market. I'd point to Windows but they've got some work to do.

Shame about Meego, but it came at the wrong time.

AnonD-16429, 12 Jun 2012The more you emphasize on the so called 'screwing consumers... morei think the guy made it clear, i9000 not receiving ICS due to lame excuse such as Touchwiz crap and thats what he meant when he said (Screwing Consumers) isnt that disappoint i9000 users & honestly i use S2 & touchwiz is stupid i wish if Samsung just remove it rather than deny the i9000 users from ICS for stupid reason,,, iPhone is an iPhone the best friendly UI in phones & im sure people love it for the simplicity rather than getting custom ROM in order to have ICS in theirs i9000 .... Samsung really let the i9000 owners down

Ah yes, Android vs. Apple fans raging war on the interwebz.
In some comments SGS1 was bashed for not being updatable to ICS and 3GS gets the shinny new iOS 6. That is true, Scamsung scammed us users, but 3GS will have some of iOS 6 functions stripped and will probably work really slow (like before iOS 5 on 3GS).
That is one of the perils of Android and there is nothing we can do about it, it all lies on manufacturers if they update it or not.
But on the other hand, the new iOS 6 is really a big "meh"!
I think that from iOS 5 onward Apple is playing catchup with Android. C'mon Apple, your users need to feel elite! Why are they paying you more then?
iOS 5/6 has tons of it's core functionalities copied from Android (notification center, reply with message,... - granted they made it a bit better) and the only thing Scamsung copied from Apple was some apps like Siri (S-Voice; Apple bought the company anyway) and iPod (S-Music). But we already had few of those apps on Play Store (like Vlingo - granted it's not as feature rich as Siri), therefore you can't say they really copied Apple, even thro Scamsung really tries :)
All in all why would you need the newest iOS 6 on 3GS when you have more functionalities on SGS1 with Gingerbread! :)
              How goes the saying?
"There's an app for that!" (except for core OS functions) :)

Computers don't always even do so. The review only showed that android did not fully utilize them. Not that they didn't. Wow you have to explain this a billion times. Intel was making fuss for the reign of their cpu's. They left out were this is a problem in general not specifically an android problem. And android is about to get some more support. Please do not post foolish things if you have no clue what you are talking about

frankly, in what way are the i9000 customers screwed ?

If you are not aware, Galaxy S customers are one of the most satisfied and it propelled them to buy another samsung product when they wished to change their phone.

Galaxy S had limitations to receive the 'touchwiz flavour of ICS' not the vanilla android ICS.
And if i am not wrong, i did explain this in another thread to you. what surpises me is the fact that there are voices from other community trumpeting the Galaxy S not receving the ICS than the Owners.

-Inability to send a simple bluetooth transfer - thats SCREWING
-Unable to replace a battery - thats SCREWING
-Complete dependency on proprietary app with a computer for a simple file management activities - thats SCREWING
-Unable to reject a call with an SMS - thats SCREWING
Let me stop here before the list gets too long.

as said, try having multiple devices with multiple h/w combinations with multiple o/s version running and then you can understand about 'updates' and strategeies. Oh yes, actually it demosntrates the capability which Nokia, Samsung, Moto and LG have proven.
