Anyone considered one very important detail-Android, whatever guise it comes in is riddled with all sorts or security 'holes' allowing just about anyone that wants to, to hack an android handset(talking NSA,FBI,CIA,INTERPOL,ad nauseum) regardless of how super-duper the handset is. I don't think Symbian suffers with the same problem. Personally,I much prefer a secure os even if it is outdated ,knowing that at least my privacy has less chance of being compromised;hence the conclusion that the 808 might not be such a bad idea after all.

This phone would have been kick ass if it were dual/quad core. Cmon nokia battery is no. 2 problem, give people what they want, not what u think. U will come out with dual or quad core anyway someday then why wait. Just my 2 cents.

REMEMBER: This have Nokia warranty in the US. If you plan on purchasing it outside of the country, it is cheap but it is not covered by the warranty in the US.

It's a welcome contender, but things don't happen overnight. But Pureview is just pure tech demo, it's gotten really bad reviews and I honestly hope people will steer clear of this overpriced monstrocity. Why can't Nokia ever put a proper SoC into a Symbian to make it even more powerful than a $100 Android phone. Sad to see Nokia repeat its mistakes over and over again.

having this price on the amazon website does not equate to having same price around the globe
pureview actually only costs about $500-$560 usd in the Philippines
which means nokia is assessing the market and adjusts their price accordingly

Pureview + Symbian = Sucks. Those who are still agreed to run a Core i7 PC with Windows 95/98 might buy this Camera. I will wait for a WP8 version of Nokia PV.

Looking down upon the 5 years of hard work and struggle is an easy job to do sitting behind the screens of PCs and phones... What have you done in last 5 years??? Go and troll somewhere else...
They put their heart and soul in it and they can sell it at whatever price they want to... Innovation is always priceless! If you like it go and buy, if you don't just keep your mouth shut.
If Samsung would have come up (somehow miraculously) with this technology they would have never put it in their Galaxy series... They would have gone for money making by introducing it in their high end $1500 P&S cams and by patents... And whole world would have been drooling all over it WOW! WHAT AN INNOVATION!

And Nokia fans that have eyes will wait for Jolla and if it's good will buy it if PV isn't must. Nokia is losing its fans to WP8 and possibly Jolla, rest are going for Android and there will be only few real Nokia fans and when Belle dies it will lose them also.
But if I would look phones for now, I'd choose this instead of Lumia PV, cause this might be last Belle phone be remembered and Symbian is at is best (even in its last days if there won't come "Jolla" for it)
Speaking of Jolla, I'm turning to their camp cause I'm writing by N9 at this very moment and it's awesome.
