[deleted post]Oh man , I wish you said this to me , to my face . . . just to look at your eyes while those words start rushing out of your brainless head . . . you did not see poverty on TV , not felt it . . . one who has enough to eat , drink clean water and someone to love and who loves him back is not poor in any way . But you are poor even if you have enough money to buy new expensive sh*t all the time . Tie your self to your belongings and when you lose them one day , you shall lose your soul with those things too . I felt poor only when I did things wrong in my life , because my heart was empty .

AnonD-26870, 28 Jul 2012Since LG's dualcore lineup won't get the update, HTC isnn't... moreThat's because nvidia won't release drivers for the 2x when cyanogenmod 9 works on the 2x so your points null and void
sony's xperia range have gotten the update to 4.0 and its got the same processor as the desire hd.
and the whole backup thing effecting it, don't people backup their devices through the htc update software anyways (not sure just knowledge from my xperience with lg) so that shouldn't effect it

just go use WP or IOS, i think they are better for you anyway,im an android user that uses mac and windows i love all of them.

it is better running an "older" stable version. In software world all "new release" are always full of bugs. During the first 12 months of new software
(android not an exception) fixes are created to have stable release after 1 year or more. As we are now july 2012 : if i should consider buying android (i do not ) is should even prefer gingerbread above ICS.

              GUYS ! COME ON !
this device is almost more than 24 months, HTC has given enough support. i mean , they are concern of your data, there is data that cant be restored if you upgraded to ICS due the difference on the system itslef and if you forse it , it will cause FC , freeze, reboot, and then people will flood gsm arena with cursing to HTC because of the crappy update. If they give update but still using sense 3.5 (to reduce system weight) people will food gsm arena once again complaining. i mean come on -,- dont be a selfish b*tch, youve got support for 2 years, its time to do cunstom rom or switch handset.

now HTC we just need to have the ICS kernel source, show us that youre really listen.

guys i own a dhd too
and i am not happy about the fact that i wont get ics
                but htc's view is reasonable
dhd has less than 2gb of internal space which is not a lot and considering that about 1.2gb is user available its not very promising
BUT I BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT STORED MORE THAN ABOUT 500MB ON THE PHONE MEMORY CAN EASILY RUN ICS
                LETS HOPE XDA SAVES US
                PEACE

..saying ANYONE can put some custom ROM on it and back up their data as well, if they wanted... who cares about HTC.

Great Public Relation department at HTC, not!
Well then have a nice time getting new customers as you really spitting old customers in their face.

Perhaps thats the strategy HTC have chosen to compete with Samsung and other Android makers?

I can accept that (since my next High end phone won't be a HTC) but I would like Google to come out with something that makes swapping ROMs easier.

Ah...they thought that we re going to loose all our data.
                            Let's see:
                            1. Photos (all stored to sd card)
                            2. Music (same here)
                            3. Videos (same here)
                            4. E-mails (solution: back up with many apps)
                            5. Messeges (same here)
                            6. Contacts (all stored to google account)
                            7. Games progress (solution: app backup pro)
                            8. Boockmarks (all stored to google account)

I need a better explaination about this...

What other lame excuse will HTC find next time? Seriously, i've seen ICS on lowest crap end phones from this generation and then they can't install it on the last gen highest end models? Give me a break...

Well how come that Desire S have suficient space for upgrade..... I was hoping for update mainly for the reason of installing Chrome and that will give my phone at least one more year of life to burn.... HTC, I am deeply dissapointed by that decision, now I'm forced to root my phone and put on some ROM and fight the bugs away, drives me mad...
