Why not launch with 8GB and push people to use the (updated) Google Drive? Nexus4 users could get 16GB cloud storage (for music, docs, etc) and 8GB for the pictures and videos taken from the phone.

Obviously the 8GB is just the test version for the alpha devices.
If you think the Google/LG partnership would retail their new nexus flagship with solely 8GB of storage, that's ludicrous.

Maybe they will follow the same strategy as the Nexus 7. It came in 8gb and that is not enough for someone who like to download a lot of apps. But they also made a 16gb version and supposedly coming out with a 32gb version. I hope the the rumors of multiple companies making Nexus phone will be true.

i read somewhere that LG Nexus came with 3 variants. 8gig, 16gig, 32gig. internal memory. the 32gig. model has no micro sd card slot...

i think in its size theres no question they can put beast specs in it. i am just wondering about nexus phones, are they really for latest android user experience? or just a prototype, like trial and error resolving bugs so that the next generation well design beast phones will be not so messy after all?
look at this device, this isn't a joke releasing with 8gb, they were not produced i guess to target the mass consumers rather than an open source device to the developers and techs who are on their feet to make android more better, what is your bet? 8gb wont matter on debugging(s), after all it is just a testing device. awful. marketing by google who mainly develop andriod, now spreading their wings to cover the best of ideas from the phone manufacturers, from samsung, to LG, to sony and was it also HTC with the HTC One X5? i hope One x5 wont be such 8gb no card slot... if it will be then i am correct :D

should have 64 gig internal.... especially if there is no micro sd slot...
Do I need to get a job at google and help them build a real nexus phone state of the art.....

i was waiting for this nexus phone but now confirmed has not mirco sdcard im buying a note 2. i have no choice. i need offline space for my adventure traveling. too bad

If this 8gb of memory is true with the new Google nexus it will not sell the amount they tink its going to sell becuz I am not buying it for starters and I've been a nexus for one year now and I've been waiting for a newer version to be release and they coming with shit memory space like this 8gb now, if so be the case I'm jus goin to buy a I phoned 5 becuz this is just taking the piss out of Ppl now like we have no sense whatsoever, or we just of to accept wateva it is they make these fone companies need to realise that we not getting their products for free you know we actually spending our money so stop giving us shit and quantity, we want qualities. And more for our money.

In my opinion, they give us little memory because they want to encourage us to use their cloud service. For an example, Google Drive.
