But, it only happens when you push the chip to its limits. Like benchmarks or genshin impact max settings. For light and medium use, like social media or playing clash royale, sd 888 will stay cool and be normal at battery efficiency. But what's the point of using less power if you're having an flagship soc? Even Oneplus, oppo, vivo, realme phones overheat easily with sd 888 chip when pushed to the limits. So you can't only blame xiaomi. Samsung is just lucky with their exynos 2100 this year that the snapdragon 888 is having an problem. Samsung snapdragon 888 version throttles easily, so they don't overheat and suck as much power as chinese phones with sd 888, but again, the throttling can be up to 35% reduction in performance, which is in line with snapdragon 860. So to sum it up, Snapdragon 888 is an double edged blade. You ask it to work hard, it can, but you need to feed it a lot. That's why SD 870 makes more sense, it is way cooler and saves 20% more power than the 888, yet is only 5 - 10% slower. Even the hdr video ,triple ISP, smooth video and smooth lens switching that the 888 provides aren't used by most companies, rendering most features of the 888 unusable

What on Earth went wrong with the 888? Is it the X1 core? Is it the extra ISP taking needed space? Is it the integration of the 5G modem? Is it Samsung's process? Or is it a combination of some or all? I was looking forward to the Snapdragon 888 before I saw comments on here from people talking about seeing tests where the Mi 11 (first Snapdragon 888 phone) was heating up abnormally.

The camera is actually decent on paper (not flagship though), but they used a 480 chip... this chip isn't capable of 4K shooting, so the camera specs go to waste

I've tested it, the maximum brightness outdoor was very limited. Visibility was less good than realme 7 pro.

I would be more surprised if they had a flagship camera killing phone for $200 with a cheaper chip, and a flagship with the same camera for $300.

Camera wise, Realme GT is trash. Poco F3 with GCam takes better pictures than Realme GT stock cam.
